I thought the rears were the longest. I will take some measurement of what I have. But I have used rears from the 3 for the fronts of the 4/r

If I'm not mistaken ( buat I think I'm correct )

MTX3 : front cvd is longer than rear cvd

MTX4 : rear cvd is longer than front cvd

MTX3 and 4 front cvd are the same length

( a bit short cvd shaft is less prone to get bind, from side impact ).

Thanks

Q: What parts do I need to build a front diff?

A (Scott Fisher):

T0258 Diff pulley
T0202 Diff cup
C0228 Diff gear (manual says it comes without the little o-rings)
T0243 S3 (little o-rings)
T0244 S5 (bigger o-rings)
C0227 Spacer
B06401 2x6 screws. You might already have some of these.
B0649 2.6x6 screws. You might already have some of these.
T0215 Joint pin

Yup, after ironing out some handling stuff in the car from the previous owner, I cant wait to get back to the track. Not quite sure why its the red headed step child of the nitro world if you will.. Ive heard of the 2nd gear issues, but it seems to me as long as you can set the mesh right, and set your EPA so that the throttle servo isnt flexing the motor its fine..

looking for a bit of advise if possible, i can't seem to keep the rear of my mugen planted. pretty much anytime off throttle the rear comes loose, a fellow racer loaned me purple rear springs, was blue. and a 2.5 rear sway bar, was 2.3 and it help alot but still not stable. 60wt mugen oil all around, -4 degree rear camber, 100,000 wt. front diff oil and 30,000 wt. in the rear. droop 3mm all around if i remember correctly. measured at the lowest places of hubs.

1. Have you use brand new tires ?

2. Dont mix front tires and rear tires, they are made from different compounds. ie. front for front, rear for rear.

3. Use 3 degree rear toe in //--*--\\ ?

4. Make sure all four suspension arms can drop under its own weight ( free upswing and downswing movement )

5. front downstop ( droop ) should be 0 or 1 , and rear downstop should be 4 or 5, under hudy block. ( or simply follow the original box setup as first initial testing )
