1. Use the longest screws (12 + mm) that will fit in the holes for the rear bulkhead left and right parts. My car had 8mm screws and they would work themselves loose frequently. Once after I had stripped 2nd gear, I checked engine mount, screws bottom/top and "aluminum" side brace, all were tight. But the rear bulkhead screws were loose, when I tightened them up, the gear mesh tightened up to the orriginal setting.
2. Ensure that the rear engine mount screws are not too long and preventing the engine attachment screws from tightening up fully. I ended up shortening the rear engine mount (chassis side) screws by 1-2 mm.
Since I made these two changes, I have not stripped a spur gear in 8 race outings.

Spenzalii !! Good to hear from you !!
Well, for the Byron's Challenge I won the C main, and second place finish at the Leisure Hours Raceway "BIG 20" race in both 1/10 TC and GT. This season has been really fun! This is my first race season for the MTX4R and I have improved my laptimes by 2.5 seconds over the CD3. The car is easy to set up and very responsive to suspension changes. The more I race this car the more my racing improves!!

Any suggestions??

Some of the things that wouldn't be the "fix" is

1. Gear mesh (always right)
2. New pinions
3. 2nd gear housing ball bearing
4. bulkheads and no overtighten screws
5. i also use 4mm chassis.

any suggestions??
Also, check the bearing in the two-speed housing. My gear-stripping problem was contributed to that bearing hanging up due to dirt/debris getting into it. Once I replace the housing with a new one with a fresh bearing, my gear stripping stopped.

perhaps pads are worn therefore causing too much play on the brake plates
adjust a quarter turn on both screws until the plates hold against the brake then back a little
and see if you still have the issue

thanks, its probably time for new pads and the brake pulley also doesnt allow for the brake disk to move totaly free. the pins in it grab ahold of the disk. time for an upgraded disk

hey Rat 400,

People said the NT1 is base out of the Mugen, but NT1 refind some parts in their car better than the Mugen....The bottom line is, both cars are pretty much the same and it will all depends on the driver.
Over here in HK, people are driving more on the NT1 because of the parts availability, but Mugen is still a very competitive car in the racing scene. But remember, both cars were out for some times now, may be it is time for both of them to change their designs.......

Just my 2 cents........

I don't undersand... The NT1 is the dominant chasis right now(but that does does not mean its the best chassis). Why would you make a change. You never fix something that is not broke?????
