good luck
The colour of the collect i got with the kit was BLACk - correct? as other collects are GOLD, ill try to use the collect with the kit, but it just wont budge the flywheel any closer down....

I knew something wasnt right when i added way tooo many shims and still it locked up - technically the bolt on the last section should bottom out inside the crank shaft?

Will speak to a good mate that will assist in fixing the problem!

yes, it is black
but on my tz the flywheel goes lower than your pic,
aldo the cap head screw should bottom out only if the spacer
is well adjusted, that is why i switched to a screw 2mm smaller in length.
good luck

I have a brass collet that I use, I never used the mugen one.

It was probably for a ninja engine and maybe the crankshaft is a tiny bit longer.

This is the best article I've read on setup of a centax clutch. obviously its a serpent but its still worth a read.

This may be a very silly question, but did you put the weights in the correct way? I couldn't tell from the pictures. I only ask because that's what I did the first time I tried to set up a centax clutch. I felt rather small afterward, but it never hurts to ask!

I did notice there are a few grub screws left in my kit still..... how many weights do you all use one in each shoe?

I think he means the flywheel/clutch weights.

As for grub screws, I have actually drilled my weights out slighty, not added more weight.

Cheers

Frankie, shave a little of the back of the collet by sanding it on some emery cloth.
I had to do the same on my 1/8, had me stumped too for a while

What is the effect of cutting exhaust stinger short ?

I cut my exhaust stinger because long stinger often get bent.

Is it more rpm with shorter stinger ?

super super crank down the flywheeel bolt, on my tz with the stock collet I had to break out the BIG car tools ratchet and crank hard then boom the flywheel seated fully on the collet and I had room to shim.

Dude... Just remove some shims before the bearings and it wont lock up after you have tightened the screw...
