Default Servo Questions

Mugen Nation I have a question. What servos are you running in your MTX-4R? After having a stock Spektrum throttle servo die before the car even met the pavement, I have decided to upgrade.

I know there are a host of $100+ servos out there and I am not averse to stepping to that level but my initial plan was to:

A. Remove the stock Z270 throttle servo and replace it with the Z590 steering servo.
B. Get a "pro-level" steering servo.

I was looking at a HiTec HS-625 MG. It seems fast, has metal gears and all the other goodies. Feedback would be appreciated. Thanks

Steer clear of the 600 series Hitec servos. They do not hold up. If you are set on hitec, look minimally at the 900 series. As the other guy said, the Futaba 9451 is very good servo and a great value. You can really work good deals on that servo from Tower Hobbies if you buy two of them. You get a small discount on buying two, plus there is always some sort of a coupon you can use as well. ( They are out of stock of course, as I just checked).

Nothing wrong with that, but I was under the impression he was looking for a less expensive option and the futaba 9451 I feel is the best value out there right now.

fair enough, i misread the post i thought people were just listing what they use in their cars

which one is the official mtx4 thread, this one or the old one? it's geting confusing i think the otherone has more indepth info, but this one seems to be updated more often as of late

I just got rid of my G4S and now I am looking for a new MTX-4R. Is Brooklyn Hobbies still the best deal? 379.99 plus $20 to ship. Thanks, Troy

Thanks for all input. I have decided on the s9451. Thanks for all the input. I believe this thread is the "updated" MTX-4. So there is a lot of back and forth information from this thread and the other MTX-4.

The G4S was my first car. I got a good deal so I bought it. The car would tweak easily. I hear the mugen is TOUGH What do you guys think. Anyone else ran a G4S? Troy
