oh ya my chassis is the kanak and its kinda like the 3 racing one.

but really any 4mm chassis is good
the mugen one you cant us a 1peace motor mount, but really do you need one and if you run a sirio motor you cant.
and for the striping gears
its mesh you got to mesh tight, and the age of the gears, tho they my look good there not
its just like in the old days with 32 pitch gears in elc offroad,
and also chassis flex
well thats what i think but i could be wrong but iv never striped a gear on a mugen car before.
happy racing

Well I finally got the car together, engine/pipe installed and wires neatly tucked behind the servos. I will take it out to the track this weekend and see how she does. I went with the RB Concepts V12 R3 engine and pipe combo. I was told I should go up one tooth on my 1st and 2nd spur gear.

Will that give me more top end or better low end? Thanks.

1 tooth up on spur mean better tourque but reduce top speed

That makes sense. As a novice driver, I need something that is more controllable. I have ordered a set of steal pinions as well. For you guys that have the lightened parts from 3Racing or RDlogics, have you seen a performance advantage?

I have titanium pivot ball (Kfactory) , hollow main shaft(Skyline racing) and lightweight gear housing. I think that serve me well. I am a parking lot driver which mean traction isn't too good, I have more then enough punch at the low end (too much when my tyre wear out)

One of my most recent hop-ups that I really like is the rdlogics vented/slotted brake rotor and mugen teflon pads. This, along with the solid front diff. are a great combination at 301. The stock brakes on the 4 fade really fast and when you need them most, they won't be there. Personally, I think lightened parts are just bling and you should spend your money on the 4mm chassis, and front CVD's. Just my opinion.

I have the 4R so it came with CVDs but the 4mm chassis was something I have heard is a good investment. I'm running a solid on the front. I'm just anxious to get out there with you guys and start running.

Hey guys. Thanks for your responses about the 4mm chassis. I think i'l be running the stock 3mm chassis just to try out a few things. Here's a pix of my car I just finished. Thanks Mike, Robbie, and Harry

For the money, the R is the best bet. You picked the right one. I would try the stock chassis first to see if you strip gears. If not, you're fine. If you do, get the 4mm. I have the 3 racing 4mm from rcmushroom which is half the price of the mugen and works great for me.

U like my avitar pic? It's sweet! Thanks!

get the 4mm chassis
and if you insist on running a spool your cvd's will where more and your belts too.
not to many guy's up here run spools anymore and low and behold the lap times are getting faster.
and ya a 1way has faster corner speed but you can traction roll
what im trying to say is try different things and see what happens
but a 4mm chassis is the best thing to run. as for striped gears check this out.
