I learned on the kyosho evo thread to set my mesh really tight, just so it doesn't bind.

I have seen just as many strips on the other brands(serpent/kyosho/xray) as mugen and when I go look at the car I have always seen why it stripped. Usually people just have too much gap and then it hit's so hard it almost loses traction.

BOR: your fasst shut down, that's what happened? what battery are you running? Brad had that (thermal recv shutdown) and sent the recv in and they fixed.

That was on sat. I took the cover off and that solved the problem. It overheated, I temped it 5 or so mins after my car smashed into the wall, and it was at 120, so im sure it was pretty hot LOL. IDK how though. But the cover off I didnt have any more problems. Im running some racers edge 1200's

I don't think those braces will improve handling or generate quiker lap times.

Yeah, the FASST recievers over heat, and thermal/shut off. For me that was when I was going full throttle in the infield, and it smashed into the wall...

Didnt you set the failsafe. When it overheats it goes to failsafe

I use a 3PK S, the FASST is a awesome system, you just have to watch it. I took the cover off and its fine now. But its kind of a pita...

No, they dont go into fail safe, they die, and re boot. All of which took 5-6 secs, enough to hit the wall, bounce off, and then it was back on. My buddy has had this problem, and even with fail safe set, it would still just die. Is there a updated RX or something now? Because I know ours are older. I have a rubber band on my carb now so when that happens, it will go back to neutral, which is better then WOT

Its purpose is to keep the rear of the car from flexing and stripping the spur gears.

It wasn't manufactured to make your car handle better or generate quicker lap times. Your car does have better lap times with two good spur gears on the car and that is what the brace was created for.

Thanks Scott. If so then wouldn't Mugen be coming out with something like that? I mean there has to a reason for Mugen not having the brace and allowing some kind of flex right?

No, not necessarily. There are many hopups which improve things that are made by companies other than the chassis manufacturerer.
