Default VirtualRC Sim

http://www.virtualrc.com/default.aspx

Just wondering if anyone has tried this and how you like it? I downloaded the free version to try out and its not too bad. I think with the pistol remote it would be pretty cool.

Well for me...no nitro TC tracks around here and it seems to either be raining or snowing most of the year I would pay the $200 for the sim if it is nice.

It's not as good as the real thing, but it's great for practice. It can help you with being consistent at many levels - on/off throttle, braking, driving line, passing etiquette, driving long mains, etc. It's also nice being able to drive all those different tracks around the world. If you think your driving needs some work, I think it would be helpful.

Quite a bit of feedback in these threads as well:

I play this game all the time and even compete in online competitons. Its really cool being able to race anytime you want. The game plays close to the real thing as your gonna find in a sim. I say its worth every penny spent. Just buy it and see dude.

I was just playing it earlier. I use to keep in rhythm during the off season until i can afford to run electric again. I just wish we didn't have winter here.

They totally pooched VirtualRC when they went to a pay for everything deal.

I downloaded the original version before it was a "pay for a membership" deal and got grandfathered. Everyone who signed up before it became a fee based Sim only has to pay for new tracks.

I doubt I would pay $120 to sign up and then pay again for a 10-pack of tracks. It costs a new member $200 to get going. That's a bit steep IMHO.

They should have left it alone and they would get more business...... free software with only a few free tracks and then you'd have to pay to enter online races, or to buy different tracks.

I'm the same....and I won't pay to buy all this stuff they want..spend the money on FORZA 2 for x box(or PGR)you can hone your driving skills(....and its ALL hand eye traing anyway) against REAL opponents.....not some stupid AI....

thank god Beirvots left Serpent...

Whoa thats wild. I just paid $35 for the adapter and that was it , got 3 free tracks. Drift Track , Oval and one other.

I also bought a few tracks that seemed close to what I run or where I run. Drives ok , its supposed to get better and better. Its now having trouble with Vista that they should fix soon.
