Default would you rather.....

would you rather:
have a nice close race with someone with the cars almost touching each other
win the A main?

i would prefer to have a close race because im always on the edge of my seat when racing with someone for track position.

I just had such an experience a couple of weeks ago. I qualified 7th in the A main. I was 3rd after the first corner but due to mistake of my mechanic who left my car on the ground 2 seconds later than the limit, I had to do a stop&go in the pit box. After the stop&go penalty I was 10th but after 12-13 minutes I was 4th. Since then and for the next 18 minutes of the final I was fighting for the 3rd position with less than 0.2-0.3 sec difference from the 3rd. Finally, I managed to overtake at the 29min30sec and get the 3rd position.

The experience was fantastic. It was really exciting fighting so close for the position and at the same time the mechanics at the pits fighting to find the right moment to call us in for the refuel and do it faster one from the other, using the fuel guns. Despite the big pit fight, after every refuel we were again at the same position.

Later, I asked the guy who won the A main with a secure difference, without being pushed by the second and he replied that after he made the difference, he was praying for the time to pass quickly.
On the other hand I was praying for the time to last for ever, so I would have the opportunity to overtake.
Only that says that I enjoyed much more that the winner the race. I can assure you, it was a strong experience.

I agree, I like it when 2 or 3 cars get together and run close, following, changing positions and just "riding" around. It gets to the point that when you get comfortable doing this, when you come into traffic your response is more predictable. If you ever watch a nitro pan oval race in GASCAR, you will see 4, 5 or even 6 cars nose to tail, running just inches apart, never touching! Thats the one thing that I miss about oval.
Am I going back racing?...Hmmm.. Not anytime soon... But soon enough.

Have a close race for the a-main win

Nah, depends on the field and the race itself... close racing is always good, but if you're battling for the last spot.......

I love a close race. I don't if it's for 1st place or 8th place, nose to tail for an entire main is great.
