What do you guys expect from a rear wheel drive car with rubber tires and no mentionable aerodynamic downforce.

This thing's gotta be handling like crap.

Just look how quickly the car spun when he slightly hit the throttle.

This car definately needs foams and IMHO it also needs 4 wd.

I dunno what the Serpent guys had in mind when the came up with this concept.

Even 235mm 2wd cars are tough to handle and the have foams and a body with down force, PLUS, much less horsepower.

The rims were yellow so I suspect it was on foam tires instead of rubber.

Agree. 1/8 sets the epitome of RC "F1". Seems F180 needs to be close to that to be interesting enough. Plus weighing at >3kg, it's 180deg from doing that. Really nice car but....

You guys are missing the point, you want it to handle like an 1/8 with rubber tires and being 2wd its impossible at this point being a new car im sure down the road but right now its what they inteded it to be a collectors item not a car for competition racing.....

I don't thik is trying to redefine the 1/8 scale class. Nothing so far is faster and better than that. They know that, they where one of the first ones!

I think they are trying to expand the market into something different. Expand not change or substitute. Maybe more laid back racing, less extreme, funny but at the same less expensive on the long run, specially with that engine. I see this product ideal for a spec class. I saw it running with rubbers and yes is not really what i was expecting (the video also show). But then i saw it with Foams and the cars handles awesome!!! I was actually impress by the fact that 2 well drive was that good. Then again, do not expect to match the performance of a 1/8 scale. This is a totally different car. I think at the test i saw, the car was around 1.5 second slower that the track record for a sedan car, wich to be honest, seems quite fast to me

Even if i am not a Serpent customer at the moment, i am happy that Serpent is bringing new stuff to the Nitro market, like Kyosho with the Spada 0.9 flat pan car.
Instead of bashing this companies like some people in this thread, we should give it some time and see what happen. I personally think that i know what i want for Xmas

Stefan, there are foam tyres for it. Actually look closely at the video above, the car has the Serpent yellow foam rims on.

The other car in the video is definitely on rubber though.

Nitro Junkie when its summer and it gets hot outside that one little hole on top of the body is not going to be enough. You need air to flow over as much of the motor as possible not just the top of the heatsink. I would cut a second hole in the body directly in front of the motor. That way you have air flow from two different directions.

i think the hole your talking about is ment to be cut open just the left side were its clear and not painted thats were the radiators sit on a normal F1 car both sides of course and the top is engine air intake

I hope is does become a class(it won't but I can hope) Spec class box stock kinda thing. Most classes these days are far from realistic and extremely expensive. Some people might say this is an expensive car but if you raced it for a season in spec class compared to other classes it would come out cheaper. Drivers would also require more skill and patience in a race. Classes now have unrealistic/unnatural handling cars where speed is the only thing that counts and most passing is done by smashing someone out of the way. This would never happen with an open wheel car most likely. No offense meant to anyone and I know the above is not always the case but it is frequently. A race is a race and should be fun at any speed!

No scanner at home and not at work till monday. Not to much so I'll give it a shot here.
Rear shock rockers go in with short section to the rear for pushrod atachment and long part points towards belt for shock attachment.
Use bag I on step 3.2 not step 3.3
Length of steering linkage is 85mm not 73.7
Brake lever is spring first then hub then arm and brakerod swivel on servo horn goes to the outboard side for air cleaner clearance
Roll bar linkage is 68mm not 85mm
Screws to mount rear body mount plate are M4x8 not M4x6.
Thats it and not all these were incorrect in my manual so it may be the same for you. Probably just different phases of development along the way in writing manual.
