Default Foam Tyres

I just bought a 1/8th BMT Austin Lite with 3-Speed.
I'm about to get some BMT wheels for it.
Here's my question: It's a package deal I'm getting on Ebay, and some wheels aren't BMT's, but have new tyres.
Is there anyway to get the foam tyres off the wheels without damaging them to save them for when the foam tyres on the BMT wheels have worn?

I just checked out some ellegi foam sets. It seems they would fit my BMT? Can anyone help on this question?

In any case, any places where I can shop for only the foam tyres ( so without the wheels? )
On my 1/10th I've got Twister & Enneti foams.

thanx

Gwen

Steep the wheels in gasoline overnight and you will be able to get the foam off the rim.

Once you have the bare rims, before you glue on new foam donuts, line the entire rim with insulating tape (electricians tape). Then when the foam is worn down you will be able to just slice through the tire and tape with a knife and peel all off.

You should be able to get donuts from any manufacture. They will just have to be ordered in specially in most cases. Calandra Racing stock and sell their own brand donuts (www.teamcrc.com)

-i think lacquer thinner would be a little easier on the foam than gasoline. should only have to submerge them for a short time to get the glue to dissolve..........
