A list will be coming shortly. Masters and 1/10th 200mm in full. 4 spots are still open in 1/8th 4WD, but are probably in the mailbox as of this morning with Ted. I will be getting a list out here as well as other forums (sgrid). It took just over a month to fill....thats quick!

The 2007 Great Lakes Challenge is just about full. The 1/10th 200mm and 1/8th Masters classes are full. In 1/8th 4WD there are 4 spots open. Those will be filled by the entries in the mail today. A waiting list has been started and would advise those that are in and can not make it, please let us know ASAP so we can inform those on the waiting list that they are in.

The event will be filled to 16 mains (as noted on entry form). It will consist of 2 bump ups per main. 1/8th classes will have 10 + 2 bumps in all mains. In 1/10th classes will have 11 + 2 bump ups.

Ted will be traveling for work over the next couple days. Updates to the entry list probably will not change till then so don't send emails asking if you are in or where you stack up on the waiting list. We will make every attempt to update as soon as possible for all of you.

The 1/10th Open class was cancelled due to low entries. Those signed up in 1/10th Open were moved to 200mm.

It only took just over a month to fill. There are many top dogs signed up for this race and will definately be one of the best races this season!

Here is the latest list as of this morning:

See last posting for list

GLC racers, FYI we have had a cancellation in 1/8th Masters. So we still have spots in 1/8th Open and 1/8th Masters.

Ted & Brian,
I would like to thank both of you gentlemen for helping with the situation at hand. You both went above and beyond, and I commend you. Thanks.

Names not on the list. 200mm Sedan.
If I had of known that the open guys were going to get put in the 200mm I would not have entered as there was only 5 or so places left anyway.

What happens to my entry now?
I take it there is a reserve list? How does that work.

Names Tony Cope.

Let me know please either way. Thanks.

Could the extras for the 200mm not been offered spots in the open before cancelling? I know I would have changed to open if I had of known.

Tony,

Well no matter if you wanted to sign up for Open or not, 4 guys would not have been enough for a class. We mentioned to the few that signed up for Open that if there wasn't enough we would put them in 200mm, since they had 200mm cars anyway.

As for your name not being on the list, I will have to check with Ted. He controls the list and the entries arrive at his house. We are putting a list together for those who are on the waiting list. This is a case of all the more important to get them in as soon as possible to avoid missing the race. But I will check and see if he has yours yet.

I agree Brian. There would not be enough for the class if just I joined the 'Open'.
But if all that are on the waiting list were to be offered a place in the Open catagory, there may well have been.....................or not as the case maybe.

Don't look too much into it Brian. It was mere dissopointment of not getting in that is all. Maybe I still might end up in the GLC if people do drop out. You never know.
When alot of people you know help you to do something, to go somewhere, without being asked to do so, family, work collegues etc, then you don't go because of yourself not doing something as I did not enter in time. Then you feel as if you let a whole lot of people down. And that is never a nice feeling.

So again, I apologise for my outburst on here. I will still be there. Too much time, effort and money has been shelled out already not to go.

See you all there and good luck to all.

Menace,

Yeah, I'm not sure how big the waiting list is or what order the names are in. But we will have a waiting list sometime early next week. Ted called and told me that he is racing at 301 this weekend so he doesn't have access to the GLC entries (his wife is at home keeping them in order by date mail was received). There seems to be a few that will not make it, you may still have a shot at getting in. Sorry if my response sounded like I was playing defensive. I understand. No biggie.

See ya,
Brian
