what's the .18 engine external size? are they same as .12 and .15? or more like .21?

I was just wondering if I can fit a .18 engine into a car with .12 or .15?
Are they pretty much the same size? I am asking this because I am curious about the OS18TZ.

also, what about .20? like...Traxxas TRX3.3?
can TRX3.3 fit into a car with .15 engine? since the TRX was designed to replace cars with TRX2.5?

also, what about other sizes? like, .28, .32 or .46? are they pretty much the same size as .21?

Thanks for any help

OS claims that the 18tz fits in many 10th scale nitro cars. I've also heard of people running them in 8th scale offroad cars so they must be similar enough to 21's. The 18tz drops in the stock revo mount, but a 21 does not.

the nova 528xr (.28) is the same size as a .21 along with the other common truggy engines up to .32 or so but the nova is about the best in this category.

.12, .15, .18 should have the same external mounting dimensions.

.18 TZ (crank case specs)

Distance between mounting holes same side: 0.43" (11mm)
Distance between mounting holes opposite side: 1.2" (31.4mm)
Distance from center of engine to front of crankcase: 1.4" (34.8mm)
Distance/bottom of mounting flanges/top of crankcase: 1.6" (41.9mm)
Width of mounting flanges: 1.5" (39mm)
Diameter of exhaust flange: 0.5" (14mm)
Backplate mounting hole centers: 0.7" (18mm)

.12 TZ (crank case specs)

Distance between mounting holes same side: 0.43" (11mm)
Distance between mounting holes opposite side: 1.2" (31.4mm)
Distance/bottom of mounting flanges/top of crankcase: 1.6" (42mm)
Width of mounting flanges: 0.51" (13mm)
Diameter of exhaust flange: 0.55" (14mm)
Backplate mounting hole centers: 0.71" (18mm)

Also you should find similar results with .21, .26, .28, .30
