Default 1/10th 200mm Touring Car Bodies

So.....with all the new bodies we have comming out now for 1/10 TC.
Which do you like?

The old favourite, Protoform 3.1 doesn't seam so popular now. I find it very stable and giving plenty of rear grip.

Has anyone tried this new one I believe it's called the Altis?? Not sure who it's made by though??

I want to get a group of bodies to test out how I like them and if they are any better than the old 3.1.
What do you think I should include in the group?

Thanks for any advice you can give.

Every race I go to the Stratus 3.1 is the most popular body. The Parma M is also quite popular. Same with the Protoform Mazda.

I tried the Parma body, the Mazda, Stratus 3.1, ect..... I've gone back to the 3.1 Reason....It works, its consistant. For small tight tracks, the Caddy or Parma M. Heck, I even liked the Protoform Alfa, but they discontinued that. Personaly, I found the Parma M to have excellent turn-in, but at the cost of the rear to get loose at high speeds. A great small track body, but for the big tracks, not on my car.

The Altis body you are reffering to is made by Blitz. It's a very good body especially for wide open tracks with fast sweepers.

Here's a link:

You can also try the Kawahara Lexus body. Heard pretty good things about it too..

Good luck with your testing..

This is by far the hardest decision to make IMO when building your car. I asked around and even with the new bodies I was told to just get the 3.1 since it's been good for so long. Why change a good thing?

The Blitz Mazda 3 and 6 are also great ,personally prefer teh 3 ,find them to be a bit stronger than Protoform bodies too.
3 has great sterring and very stabil.

But don't we all strive not to smash up the car anyway?

Yes, that doesn't work...especially with that new kid out there who drives like it's all a video game and can hold WOT

There is some new bodies available too called East Coast Bodies Tune ,a collaboration between Speedpassion and Masami's dad Hirosaka.

Im waiting for a confimation if they are ROAR/EFRA/IFMAR/JMRCA approved.

I have tried the Caddy, Mazda, Status 3.1 and the Parma M on my rig. The best one for my setup is the Stratus 3.1 overall. The Caddy works well with me on small tracks with the Mazda 6 on medium tracks. I ran the Parma M and it does not hook up well with my setup and will sell my extra unpainted shells and go back the the Stratus 3.1. It would be nice to see a 200mm G6 or DNA-1 to gauge their characteristics on the track.

There is one body that I wish Protoform would bring back that worked just like the Stratus 3.1 with my setup: the Volvo S60. I had much local success running that shell.

Thanks to all who have taken the time to post their views on here. Hopefully, if this cold snap EVER ends I will get to go and test some out.
And actually get to try the new car !!!

Thanks again

I've been using Protoform as it's easier to find. I never tried other brand. I now its very boring when you arrive in the track everybody is using Stratus 3.1 I tried a Mazda 6 of a friend and I felt the car much better compared with Stratus 3.1... gains in fast corners S type and tight, but i loose speed on arc type corners
I saw some guys using Parma M and it's seems to be worst in material quality but the design is very interesting

Some time ago, I did some aerodynamic testing of some bodies. Ones of note were indeed the Stratus 3.1,and the Mazda 6. Just out of interest as I used to do some of that kind of thing on full scale cars in the past.

Until now I have only had a chance to try the Stratus 2.2, and the 3.1 and the Mazda 6.

All I could see was that the 3.1 had much better rear end grip but the Mazda 6 was better on shorter more technical tracks. The 2.2 seamed very neutral.

I'm interested in the Blitz Altis, where can I pick these up as our LHS has closed down now

It will be interesting to see what they use at the Winter Nats !

Thanks Razzor. Thankyou for your help.
I was just on the G4s thread looking at that very fine track the picture of which you posted. Wow indeed.

Bodies.... I would really like to choose and stick to the one type/model of body this year. One that will work on low and high speed tracks. Or maybe, be atleast stable on the low speed ones and good on the high speed tracks.

Can't have everything I supose.
I'll check out those web sites you listed. Thanks again.

I think you would be very happy with the Blitz mazda 3 ,really a well balanced body.
