Default Help-time is running out

I was interested in buying a nitro car, but for my Bday, my girlfriend totally surpised me with an hpi rs4 rtr3.

Now...she said I could trade it in for another car and she wont get hurt. What should I trade it for that is similarily priced($260) or better performance? I was thinking about a tc3 kit, but how much extra would I have to spend to get it up and running? or should I just get the rtr?

It's so tempting to open it because its right in front of my face. Please guys, I have until Sat., march 15 to return it. Reguards to everyone reading this.

For the Nitro tc3 kit you will need:

engine $80+ ($130+ if you get a rear exhaust)
Transmitter (w/ $80+
servos and all)
Battery $30
Charger $10 for a overnight $50 for a good one

(or you could shove a dry cell holodr in there which should come with most basic radios)

And other tidbit you'd need like paint for the body.

My opinion is that the RTR should be fine, and definitely cheaper.

thanks for your responses. Someday I would eventually want to go to race at the tracks. I've narrowed it down to keeping this, the type ss, or the ntc3 rtr.

I need to practice driving first, then when parts break, I'll just upgrade them. Thanks guys.

My GF is a sweetie.

For me racing is everything. Nothing beats the excitement (and fustration sometimes) of racing. Especially winning against 10 other drivers in your heat/class.

Keep the Nitro-3. It is a decent enough of a Car, durable, EVERYBODY carries parts for them and is raceable with some better tires and springs.
I will say that I believe the NTC3 to be a more capable car if you decide to race and upgrade, but other than that, in RTR form they are pretty equal. Keep the HPI Nitro-3 (unless you WANT a new Girlfriend)

Ok...Im going with a tc3 rtr. I wish they had a kit that came with all the stuff to make it rtr, just so I can build it. I hope there wont be a newer model of the ntc3 coming out.
