MM, thanks! I was just reading your post and trying to understand what you meant when you said this "The difference is theirs is a synthetic castor which is very nice, ours is a straight synthetic from the same family of oils"?

By the way I could have sworn that I noticed you running around the pits last week in Phoenix at teh Nitro Challenge, was that you?

Gwen RC, just a recomendation but for off-road aplications while I do not recomend it you can get away with using synthetic only as your normaly not running the engines on edge. For on-road use though I would highly recomend that you run a synthetic/castor blend.

Default Castor Oil

Castor Oil is made from the castor bean. There are only afew sources that mfr. castor oil. And most of the oil companies buy it from the same few sources. It may be refined a little more....be a little less acidic etc...... but it's still a natural based oil. Castor oil has a flashpoint has that is somewhere in the 450F+ degree range. For on-road racing at high RPM , castors unique lubrication qualities coupled with it's heat removal properties is hard to beat compared to any of the synthetic oils on the market. Synthetic Oils are more stable than castor, and has other lubrication qualities that makes it a good choice for blended fuels. The argument of all synthetic based fuels and castor/syn blends has been ongoing for years. In my book, I will only run a castor/syn blend. It's a formulation that just plain works.

Id prolly have sme castor componenet in off road fuel, remember there is a lot of free revving in off road where the engine has little resistance.

MM, no problem, my interest was more to make sure that people understood what you are trying to say. When I read "The difference is theirs (Runner Time) is a synthetic castor which is very nice, ours is a straight synthetic from the same family of oils"? it's not realy clear. Runner Time is a combination of synthetic oil and castor oil (a natural, non-synthetic oil). Reading what you wrote I would asume that yours is strictly synthetic oil but then again a ways back you said that you included castor in your fuel so frankly I still dont know what you were trying to say lol!

By the way if it was not you then you got a twin running around here in the US!

Regarding castor in off-road, you can get away without using it but again as mentioned I would not recomend it. In on-road it's definately a no, no!

We have researched all the best fuels around the world and Runnertime uses a very similar oil to ours. The difference is theirs is a synthetic castor which is very nice, ours is a straight synthetic from the same family of oils. There is about 3000 of these types of oils avalable and we use 2 of them and have exclusive liscence for their use as they have been modified to our specs and produced as such. Only MassiveMods has this oil.
