Default 3 speed transmissions

ok here it goes - does anyone know of anybody that has made a 3 speed transmission for the HPI Nitros - Super for regular nitro. Even if it is a homemade job i would be interested in what they got.

Unless you are racing on a track with a 250ft+ straight the 3-speed is far from an advantage. You only get a short burst of the start line for about 1sec max.

I had one of the first ever 3-speeds from BMT some 14yrs ago and it didnt last 3 weekends before we reverted back to the 2-speed.

We had one of the longest straights in the UK at our track (70+metres) and 1 sec at the line was the advantage. After that you were never out of second or third gear

Default 3-speed

There isnt is 3-speed for the hpi nrs4 or snrs4. I lokoed into it alot and nothing. So stick witht he good ole pos 2-speed. Well it works great but the ratios are horrible. I have to use 15/18 on my nrs4-2 so it doesnt spin to hell taking off.

...true, true
I have some of the old BMT 3-speeds...A 3rd gear is not very nessisary for racing. But its cool to have.

ok so now everybody tells me of the so called 3 speed thats out there but what does it look like - especially the shift mechenism - The track the we use does have quite a long straight away and it might come in use if I had a third gear. Does anybody have a picture of this 3 speed. In particular a closeup. And one more thing would it be adaptable to an hpi super?

Ok, so the only 3-speed nitro cars around are that BMT one, mad force and the fusion w/.21. There is also one made for the t-maxx but it isnt a 3-speed, its just another 2-speed which brings it to a total of 3 gears. In your opinion guys, would you liike to have a manual shifting tranni in a nitro touring car? IMO, i think if the weight of the tranni wouldnt be an issue i would even though it would be slower than a auto.
