Default 3M double sided tape

Hi all gudos,
Can I use the 3M super strength double sided to fix the servos in place for my 1/10? I do not use to drill holes in my aluminium chassis.
Please advise. Thanks in advance.

What car do you have? And why does it not have any holes for the servo? Are you talking about steering servo or throttle servo? Regarless of all these questions I asked, tape is not recomended other then some electric rc applications. Let us know a little more about your car and situation.

I wouldn't use it regardless of the chassis type. The servo, no matter what torque, is going to wiggle its way off the tape when in constant push/pull.

Take care

I'm having a Kyosho on-road but not knowing what model. I think its a Mercedes Benz. It had a blue casing on the right for the servos, reciever and batt. I think that the casing is kinda awful looking. Will prefer to align/ fix all the electronics directly onto the aluminium chassis. I've got a EP buggy which I;'ve affixed the ESC, servo and reciever onto its FRP chassis with the double sided tape. However, I wish to seek all you experts' advise as I'm just back to rc after many years.

Servo tape and nitro fuel do not work well together. EP apps, no problem... but even then, shoogoo probably works better. Their is a nitro resistent type shoogoo that's used for mounting Rx packs into battery trays. It's called Permatex Ultra Blue 77B at most auto stores.

Is it also a double sided tape? Please pardon my ignorance.

No. It would work for awhile but eventual it will not stick to the chassis. The best way to attach a servo would be by use of screws. I'm sure you chassis has a place for the servo unless you are creating it from aluminum.

No it's not a tape, more like silicon sealant. mgreens right. Steering servo will undergo lots of abuse, secure servo mounts and screws.
