You really need to specify the vehicle that the motor was put in and mentioning what motor it is would help also.

NitroMaxx3.3 you started threads about sealing your engine and starting it and other short questions but you should probably not start a thread eveytime you have a question. People wont know what you've talked about if you've left a thread and started a new one. Continue the discussion in the same thread. Just a suggestion.

Can you turn the large spur gears with your finger or is there binding happening?

The one way on the first gear lets it roll forward but this engages when you roll it back turning the large spur. If the spurs turn they will turn the pinions on the clutchbell. If the clutchbell is stuck and wont freespin then the problem is inside the clutchbell.

i just started my engine and it idles out of control. the hsn is at factory at 3 turns out from flush. and when i can get it started it idles so high that it runs away as soon as i put it on the ground. the break in says not to mess with the lsn until after breakin. any help solving this annoying problem is appreciated thanks.

Adjust your idle screw for starters. Turn it to the left to lower your idle speed. Thie idle screw has nothing to do with the other needles. Try that and see if you can SLOW that idle down. Also make sure that your radio isn't the issue on opening up the throttle some if you are starting your engine with you radio equipment on. Make sure your "end point adjustment" on the throttle is not opening the carb at all wen your finger is off of the trigger.

You may also want to check if the carb is closing fully at the idle position of the servo. The spring should have some preload to help close the throttle slide. If the engine is new, the throttle slide can stick a bit till it wears in. If you don't have enough preload put in another linkage stop between the spring and the ball cup on the throttle slider. If possible post a pick of your throttle setup.

it pulls out of the corners harder, with more positive direction.
i used to have a tc3 and i put the one way in it, i noticed a huge difference.
