Default Dogbones

Can anyone tell if NT1 rear dogbones will fit the S-720?
What about rear CVDs?
Thank you

Just like the switch dimensions, the dogbones are also different lengths.

BTW ... There are 19 Team driver NT1 setup sheets posted at XRAY, just in case you had not noticed.

Call me crazy, but something is not sitting right with me......I read about how premium, luxury, researched, best quality material after prototype after prototype, this car is suuposed be be........and then they come out with spur gears as an option,as well as a BETTER bumper?....Are these spur gears different material.....or the same withsome holes punched in?Either way, they should be on the car standard(I mean, whats a FEW holes if tahst all it is..)....either way,its not sitting well with me...I can understand option parts, lightened clutch bells etc,but not on a car which has so much bragging about how well its been built and researched......

not hating.....just not sitting right....

I bought the NT1 based on the positive experience I had building out the T2. Whilst I found the car was very well built, in all honesty the Team Magic G4S that I have was as well constructed and did come with front universals, receiver pack, electrical on/off switch, aluminium wheel hexes, front multi diff and a hard bumber. I haven't yet driven the NT1, but it is on even par with the G4S on build quality, but a couple of hundred dollars behind on standard items.

As Harry says, not hating, but perhaps overhyped?

Once you have a chance to drive the car, come back and let us know if you can tell the difference.

Harry, I have to say that ever since I "know" you here on RCTech, I respect your candidness and directness ... this time, like always, you are right and I agree.

I feel for the manufacturers though because they are trying to compete in a niche or smallish market and they need to keep their prices down. XRay in particular is entering the 200mm nitro market for the first time, a market full of top manufacturers who are already delivering great kits so they face a huge challenge. We racers have also been "calibrated" quite high these days, especially those bought the G4S ... just look at what was included in the original kit for the price.

Now, having said that, some manufacturers need to know better than claim its kits are "luxury, blah blah" and then let racers down by getting dimensions that are non-standard (OK, they want to sell their won branded switches maybe) or plastic hexes. Its a balance, we know that but perhaps moving closer towards the "trade descriptions" guidelines would be good too because then our expectations would be "re-calibrated" then.

Rmd's hint is right, IMHO, the NT1 definitely handles better and accelerates better, stock-for stock, when compared to my G4S.

Aftermarket is a business model they all HAVE to do because otherwise its tough to make money. I think the issue with most people is that they don't like to be given the wrong info or the wrong impression up front.

Yeah, but you're just running it stock out-of-the-box, right? You need to run it with all of Gansei's mods . G4+ out of the box looks promising.

Let's not kid ourselves. Team XRAY is out to make money, just like everybody else. They are at the other end of the spectrum when it comes to marketing, when compared to a company like Mugen Seiki - which says close to nothing about anything.

Let Team Xray have their fun. Only thing that matters is how it does out on the track - fancy parts or not. Hype (if that's what it is) only lasts for so long.

My kit appears to missing one of the diff gaskets, part # 971240. I haven't had any luck finding it online. Any suggestions of where to look? I'm willing to buy a new diff case too, but I didn't see a gasket included in the description or pics I saw.

As far as I can tell, these new optional spurs are the same as stock gears, (design/material wise) they just have different number of teeth, that's why they're optional. I believe every other rc manufacturer out there does the same, i.e. they don't include array of spurs/pinions in the kit. Correct me if I'm wrong...

The spurs and pinions shown as new option parts are just tuning parts not special hop-ups. Where I think X-ray screwed up with the kit release is in their omition of the front CVD's and the required yellow clutch shoe. The plastic hexs although cheap looking fit snug and don't come off in the wheel. I think they would have been better off bumping the kit price 30 or so and included all the required parts.

Comparing to the G4S I can say with certainty that my X-ray is cheaper, easier to work on and handles far better in low grip.

Although the TM car comes with lots of bling and beffy parts out of the box you still have to replace the rear side, front side, brake pulley and pinions to gear it for anything smaller than a full scale car track. Upgraded shock bladders, clutch shoes, fly weights, clutch spring, brake disk & modified rear & front arms are also a must. In race ready trim after buying the required tuning parts for both cars my Magic was about about $100 more than my NT1.

I will say that last season on med grip open circuits my G4S looked far better than anything else last season.
