Racing regulations require a throttle return on all Nitro powered vehicles. It also just makes good sense to have some form of protection from a runaway in case of a mechanical or battery failure. Almost everything has been tried in the past to close the carburetor. From large bulky rubber bands to large bulky springs that look like they could close your garage door! Both work somewhat, but the rubber band is affected by the Nitro fuel and the springs just seem to be in the way.

The Team Solution:

Using these small thin bands solves all the problems and meets all racing regulations for a positive throttle return. Fuel does not affect these bands and they are so thin as to not interfere with anything in the area. Several cool colors are available. Check your local supermarket or drug store in the girls' hair dept for these type bands.

you're welcome..
good !

You guys are using this poly bands with a digital servo, correct? Thanks for the great idea.... I run out to Walgreens go get them... I purchased the 75 pcs pack... but with an anlog servo, they are not strong to return the carb to closed..... I'm assuming you guys are using them with digial servos...

LOL. These guys should hook you up with a deal on these kits for helping sell their kits. Heck XRAY should donate a kit to you for helping move and market their kits.

Also yeah the price raise is funny. Supply and demand. Guess hes having second thoughts as all the sales come through. Hold off a few days and im sure he would drop back. Ha.

Now whos going to be smart and buy 10 of these , then hold them till everyone goes out of stock. Then charge 100 more. Ill wait till these get back to normal prices. This PS3/XBOX 360 ebay prices are just too much.

Nothing can really close a strong servo. Some are looser than others , but its a hard bet. Either way the bands seem to be the best / cleanest and easiest route. As well they make sure if the throttle comes off or linkage pops off that the carb itself will close.

Whoa, don't look into things too far ...The distributor called us today and said we need to raise our price, plain and simple. No price gouging, here.

Thanks for the thought A.I. Any takers?

I'm really looking forward to how everyone does with the car - especially the guys that I usually keep tabs on. So far, the Team guys have been doing really well. The only problems I've read about are usually engine related - and that can happen to anyone using any car.

Its no where near price gouging , so no worries. The people asking for 500 perhaps. Either way its still supply and demand. I dont think anyone should be ashamed for selling a kit at any price. If people pay , then so be it. Sell them. Who knows there could be some supply problems later so being the first to be able to get it is somewhat a commodity.

Also isnt price gouing more or less for stores during hurricanes that jack up their water and milk prices. As well for gas stations jacking up during hurricanes and or supply problems.

Youve got a low price , so I dont see any problem with any sort of adjustments. My apologies for not making it more clear.

I have been using this type of throttle setup on my nitro cars since 2001 when I was running the HPI Racer 2. Yes, the bands tend to work better at returning your throttle than a spring.

I was working on an "essential spares list" today and came up with the list below. Quantity is on the far right. All the parts are not online yet, but I did manage to rack up about $259.80* using one online store's prices. I would estimate that the total comes out to roughly $290-300*.

Not included are other gears, diff oil, shock oil and extra screws except as listed below. That would be extra.

If you have any suggestions on what should be added or removed (including quantity) please do and I will update this particular post. Thanks!

Even better get an Orion CRF and the throttle return spring is in the carb. Which seems such a logical idea that i'm surprised it is not on all makes.
