I think he will need a threaded crank type of motor.

I'm not sure how the JL is but since it's pretty new, I'm assuming that they are SG shaft.

The OS 12 Red Head CV will work for the RS4. They are really inexpensive, about $80 street price I think.

Use the JL engine and a centax clutch for the R40, then you have the ultimate race car, the OS RED HEAD CV will need to be replaced after being broken in

are you going for race or just bashing around?, if go for race just do what team kamikaze told you, but if you wanna bashing around os 18 tz is you choice . 18 tz have alot type different crank and they have crank with treaded shaft. Ihave HPI RS42 before and iput HPI 12 RXS engine is not bad for .12 size engine

When I had that car I ran an OS CV-R. Good motor and last a very long time if you take car of it and it only cost abot $110. I've seen people run high power Sirio's and Novas with nothing but headaches. I'd stick with some one the mild side.

If you are willing to spend 300 bucks and you are just bashing, just buy a Team Associated Nitro TC3 RTR. It's a better car and tons of parts for it and it's very cheap to repair. I used to race one.
