that was some great racing this weekend. congrats to joel and mark. mark definatly worked his tail off in that race to get back up to dana. dana drove the wheels off of that car with a broken belt. steve perez showed how to lay it down by making the show, just tough breaks when he got there. nigel ran his wheels off, great running this weekend bud. was great to see steve and thello finish in the top 4.

glad to see my good ole on-road friends. hope to see you all again soon.

Being that I have not raced an 8th scale car in a year, we decided to go to Vegas and just have fun. And we did. Thanks to Rich & Crew and the RMT, things looked real smooth from the outside looking in. The weather was toasty, but consistent. The track stayed quite consistent the entire event minus the dust storm that postponed the finals.

Great show between Dana and Mark for Masters. An epic battle between a wunded car with a lead and hard charger with an earlier mishap. Congrats Mark!

The Final had what, 5 different leaders? Wow! Clearly, Mike had the "go fast, change tires" set up. Everyone else choose the "hour set up and be smooth". Toso & Paulo for the early 2nd was outstanding to watch. Mr Smooth (Joel) & Scott shaddowed the lead pack until attrition started to take it's toll on the others. Thello kept a car that looked pretty rough at times, but payed off in a 4th... way to keep your head in the game. Congrats to the K Camp for a 1-2-TQ finish. Joel: what can I say, a very smart and calculated victory; congrats! Scott has cemented his name on every podium in past years, congrat's on a very respectable 2nd. Steve: congrat's on strong 3rd, also with zero issues.

Thank you, thank you, thank you Rich Taylor and Team Taylor Racing crew!!! What an awesome facility and such a hard working crew!!! You guys rock!!!

I am so impressed with the racing at this event and the overall professionalism of these guys I had a great time (as the official, that is truly very rarely said!! LOL) and have a new appreciation for TOTAL PAVEMENT SPEED!!!! (yes, I'm still an off road girl... )

Regarding the live coverage: ROAR has contracted with LiveRC for every national this year with the exception of oval and 5th scale. (non RMT events) This event, neither Brandon nor Doug were able to attend for other reasons and there was no way I could manage the internet coverage while maintaining the program for those racers in attendance. There was so much going on and we ran things quickly each day. Live RC is awesome but in its infancy, it has a few glitches that only Doug or Brandon could or would be able to correct.... and I simply didn't have the time to work it and stay attached to the phone with Brandon.

Priority was and should always be.. the racers come first..... nothing else.

Regarding results: results will be posted on the ROAR website as soon as possible. In this day of electronic transfers... yes, we have them... and we will post ASAP.

Regarding my not posting as I stated I would: I do apologize. I was not able to gain access to a computer with results as I thought I would be able to. And...... I was dead tired at the end of each day. 101 degree temps are not that bad.. I'm from Phoenix.. but I guess combined with an asphalt track, it didn't take much to zap the life out of me.

I tried to ensure racers were well taken care of.... water and shop towels to dunk in cold water for neck wraps.... we all suffered in the heat....

All in all, this race ran very well through the efforts of the host track crew and the racers.

Congrats Mark Sweeney in your Masters win and Joel Johnson for your Open win!!! I have NEVER been so glued to a track in my life!! Nothing was going to pull me away as I attempted but never succeeded in figuring out the strategies of these drivers.

I want to thank the Roar Management team for the great work this weekend. I was happy to be there although the heat and the dust was unbearable. Jim Rice was a great race director and Dawn was tough but gentle. I hope the selection of the next track will be better.

Congratulations to Joel "I'm Back" Johnson. He drove a great race and was fast all week. Werks fuel was great and I want to thank the werks crew for the Fuel.

Congrats to Marty Barnes for making the main after a 4 year break from racing.

We will see you guys in Texas for the Sedan Nats.....

The kind that blows up borrowed motors and eats In N Out burgers once a week.
