What fuel are you using???
make sure there is lots of castor oil content in it, not performance stuff.
also check your glow plug, try the medium hot ones.
what about your low end needle, where is that, start with bringing both needles in to zero, then turn them back out a few turns so you can start from scratch.
run it super rich, fuel should be shooting out of the exhaust stinger.

After break in :
Yes, hot means good for engine ( 95C - 115C ). Don't believe the smoke trails. Use temp gun and watch and hear how the engine perform on short straight ( exiting corner and accelerate ) and long straight.

break in period = follow the manual. 80C - 90C is good enough for break in process. You could richen by another turn if you want. Break in with low temp usually you risk the piston sleeve to short live.
