As for Murnan Engines I've been running them for 6+ years and have 3 different ones in my box. GREAT POWER and reliability.

I was thinking of doing that but the alum was too thick it might scrape the track so made it shorter to dec surface area

First time I'm going to try Murnan but he was very precise and professional while dealing with him. Excited to try it out. Modded full ceramic broken in with buku clutch all from Uriah

I already have the carbon here to do that. But if I do it, I will make a new front hinge pin holder and carbon support. But will also need to do a motor mount / heat sink to go with it.

You never know ....... winter here in Colorado is thought to be long with lots of snow ...... Shop Days!

That sounds like a plan. Dm1 upgrades will sell. There is a lot of guys who didn't sell their dm1. They also wont part with their kins headz chassis, so lets go carbon.

I'm going to be at the Gulf Coast GP in November, maybe we should have a meeting of all the guys with OFNA DM-1s and talk about chassis and parts.

I'm working on building a long wheel base car for the spec class and interested to see if the parts for the 1/8 work as well on the long chassis. I have the body, tires and engine that I will take to the last Heart of America race in Lincoln, NE.

That would be great Mark
I will be going to the race on Nov 16-17 at Porter, TX
I will bring my DM 1 and definitely we will talk about setups

I was planning on building one for the spec but decided just to concentrate on the ones I have
I used to run the 1/7 and all parts will work. All you need is a 1/7 chassis and a rear longer shaft. I used a 1/7 last year at Gulf coast and was not happy with it. The problem with the 1/7 is the rear tends to let go at the mid corners. You have to slow down or else it will spin. The car was even setup by a fast guy, Keffe but could not keep the back planted. But I was using the laydown shocks at that time. So the standup shocks may also make a big difference to smoothen the back.
See you then

Hi DRRC,

I have been testing the 1/7th DMOne-E car and after locking the front diff it has turned it into a cornering beast.

Will the kyosho corvette body fit on the dm1? I have it on the dm1 e-spec with a graphite chassis. Love the look of the vette.

Bmain
Haven't tried locking the front in nitro but in electric it pulls that car around
Looks like you found a set up you see happy with

The gt2 vette body is almost the same length as the 1/7 dm but the wheel wells are not a perfect fit

1.5k diff oils in the shocks, Yellow front White rear springs.

lock up the front diff with hot glue or epoxy.

Hacker 2300kv scalar 8 and hacker speedy 18/49 gearing on 4s race, 5s more thrilling,

6s utter stupidity.

Sweep 45 50 50 tyres

I found I couldn't get the car to handle with out a big wing on the back and now I have one there, It really is all good.

Got to test the new servo mount at the last Heart of America series race this last weekend, and the car worked like it was on rails. Better balance and the steering is totally linear ..... which is what I was looking for. I may make a small change in the next run, as the High Torque / High Voltage servos even flex the 2.5mm carbon fiber.

Finished 3rd for the season among the Serpents. Could have taken 2nd with a win and the other racer (Jon) finishing 3rd or less. But the racer pushing me for 3rd (Z) had the TQ spot, so once again qualified 2nd but while pushing hard to get past him, backed it into the boards and broke something that I have not done in 2+ years ..... Jon, got the win and 2nd place. I got the car back on the track and finished just enough spots behind Z, that I kept 3rd. I think 5 points covered all 4 of us.

Anyway, I have some re-building to do before the Gulf Coast GP. After building 3 clutch bells for other racers, I'll post a video as there seems to be some issues with how to install and shim the clutch bell with 3 bearings.

Mark,
As I mentioned on the phone last night, I was able to get a good look at your car while marshalling your heat. Consistently the Best it has looked all year!! Tons of corner speed and really smooth, linear steering response.

Great job!
