Myyy check if you installed the Front and Rear diff in the good way. Have friend here doing fast maintenance switched the side of the diff and the car started on backwards lol ! ... hope this help,

Remember that when you install your diff it always have to go with the crown on the left side if you see face to face to the axle you are working on ...

Livid....

Clutch-bell destroyed.. Outer rings of bearings lodged inside bell, deep down in this stupid-ass designed clutch-bell, NOT coming out...

Why don't Tower or Amain have the freakin clutch-bell in stock? (And why does Nitrohouse want $30 for shipping?... )

Where can I get one?

Herr, you can have Nitrohouse send the parts to
FallsChurch and she can send them to you. You
may as well do a big order to make it worth the
effort. Two or three clutchbells and pinion gears,
a few packs of bearings, the new two-speed gears
you need and any other goodies that your DM-1's
may need in the future. On another note, I thought
you may end up with problems with that clutchbell,
after you posted awhile back that you had to beat
the bearings in to seat them. I wondered how you
were going to beat the spent bearings back out of
the clutchbell. Live and learn buddy, live and learn.

I definitely want a 2-speed.

Even the Ofna website shop doesn't have the bells in stock.. Looks like they are hard to find..

What exactly would you need to convert to a 19/26 CB from an LST2? Just a bigger 2nd gear spur-gear? Would that work?

"Live and learn" is starting to look like a pretty damn big mistake on my part - here I am with two DM-1 kits and ZERO part support - even in the US for the most part... I should've gotten the Kyosho I guess...

I use a punch set to get the bearings or rings out: http://www.rccoh.com/rc.tools/punch.set.html

The clutchbell is 3 separate order-able parts. Hopefully you didn't destroy all 3 pieces...

Nitrohouse looks like they have them:

http://www.nitrohouse.com/p11226/GEA...duct_info.html - gear 20t

If you are running on a smaller track you can get
away with using a single speed set up.
I have never had much problems with my two-
speed set-ups, after I started running the three
front bearing in the clutchbell. Most of the engines
I use are either hi-powered .28 engines or .21 engines
that have been modded. I have even ran my DM-1's
on the big dirt oval with no problems out of the two-
speeds.

Well I got the rings out.. When in doubt, resort to violence - hammered an old hex wrench down in there.. Knicked up the inside a bit.. Will see if it works.. Ordered some 5-8 bearings which should be here soon.. Next thing though is to get the melted plastic off the CB...(had bell in oven, picked up with gardening gloves ha ha...)

Already installed the brand-new complete 2-speed off my 2nd kit.

I did read of a guy somewhere with brushless who had used an LST2 CB.. Would sound like an ideal solution.. I just need to know the count you'd need for the 2nd gear.. Would have to have a good few extra teeth judging by the one time I fit it in there to see if it'd work.. I assume that's all you'd need to change...

If you think you're so bad off with the DM-1 two-speed, you
would be in nightmare city dealing with all the problems that
the Kyote cars have with there two-speed set-ups.
One of the guys that I run with has a Kyote GT. He always
shows up with his car and a half a toolbox of new two-speed
gears. He is the fastest two-speed diff rebiulder I have ever
seen.

Ofna doesn't sell to the public, but Nitrohouse is in the same
building as Ofna.

Lst c.b., maybe, if you could get the correct number of teeth
on the spur gears.

What would that mean performance-wise, having a 19/26 CB with the stock 1st gear but basically a 2nd gear with 3-4 extra teeth?

Until someone offers vented clutch bell, it is recommended to use three (3) of the small bearings in the front side of the clutch bell, this reduces wobble and has been proven to prevent clutch bell bearing failure. Many Ofna DM1/DM1 Spec racers including myself use this method with much success.
