Just to let everyone know that are planning to attend the Cincy race. As posted on the clubs' website www.tsrcar.com, they will not have the covered pit area they mentioned would be available. Here is the quote from TSRCAR:

"Sorry about the late notice,,,,,, but the tent which we were promised will not be at our track, but at the new bridge dedication. We are welcome to use it there, but it is 4 miles away.

We can still find some cover, but very limited.......... Bring your easy-up..
We do have plenty of chairs though!!!"

The track has not even opened for practice and you are already changing the race schedule.

Race weekend schedule
Saturday
8:00am-12:15pm Open Practice (may be controlled if attendance is high)
9:00am-11:30am Registration
12:30pm Drivers Meeting
12:45pm Start of Qualifying (3 rounds, 4 if time permits)
After qualifying Open Practice (depends on hosting club and if local noise ordinances need to be met)
Sunday
8:00am-9:00am Open Practice (may be controlled if attendance is high)
9:15am Start of final round of Qualifying
12:30pm Start of main events (All main will be run for 30 minutes, unless weather and attendance dictate a change)
5:00pm Midwest Series event complete



What is your reasoning for changing your POSTED schedule?

Why would you post a schedule if you are not going to follow it?

Your consistency is overwhelming!

Well it seems to me that the Schedule is open to change if it makes for a better weekend of racing for all that attend: "12:30pm Start of main events (All mains will be run for 30 minutes, unless weather and attendance dictate a change)".

Shorter mains and another chance to qualify would be fine with me, if someone doesn't doesn't want to run an extra qualifing heat he can enjoy the sun. Actually if the series did two on Sunday at all the races and shorter mains (maybe leave the A at 30 minutes) it might get a few more people to show up on Sunday only. One chance to qualify makes it pretty hard to justify spending the money on entry and gas.

Just to keep things clear for everone, I didnít say I was changing anything. I just asked what peoples thoughts were to some options we could have.

Doesn't matter to me, I do like the 30 min mains tho. An extra qual could come in handy too! Oh well, just tell me when I'm up & point me toward the driver stand.

30 Minute mains for everyone is my opinon. It's tough and expensive to travel, going the distance to have your main cut down or in half really begins to take the (value prop) down. Regardless of skill, everyone gets to play!

I hate to bring this up,but, if it does r..n tomorrow can we at least open up the discussion about two qualifiers and a little (note I said little) bit shorter mains?

I know I haven't raced with y'all yet (but will soon!), but from my years with the electric on-road series down in Florida it's good practice to develop a standard set of written "weather" rules.

For example,

Saturday: If the track isn't ready by XXX PM, round 1 of qualifying is cancelled.
If the track isn't ready by XXX PM, round 2 of qualifying is cancelled.
And so on.

If Saturday is a total washout, then 2 quals and shorter mains on Sunday, for example.

Then have some Sunday rules too, similar to the Saturday. Set a fixed time that mains must begin, or else results will be by qualifying.

Maybe have a rule that 1 or 2 rounds of qualfying MUST be finished before any mains are set.

Work in practice times in the event of a total Saturday washout, etc.

If both days are washed out, have a procedure in place for a make-up date. The following weekend, or an additional date at the very end of the series, for example.

Some of the biggest arguements, confusion, and messes I've seen in racing over the years stem from the "what do we do now" problems caused by weather.

Just a thought.
