Default PVC pipe joint glued on rims for drifting

Has anyone seen or heard of people gluing black PVC pipe connection joints to the plastic rims for drift action?

It seems like the plastic slips when throttle is applied so the car drifts. I saw a video on electrics but maybe this will work on nitro vehicles

Theres also drift tires you can purchase from hpi and kyosho. Even people on ebay selling these. You can also just drive hard and get a loose setup and drift on old tires.
