Collecting Your 2 Cents...

Just wanted to get some opinions on the MegaTech - NEO TNT kit.

Sold without radio or engine and my next (first) R/C car - now ready for the on-road scene.

Tell me what you think, good or bad.

Also, you could suggest a good radio for this car and/or other on-road cars.

Simply curious...

They were nice cars but you'll be lucky to find parts for them now. The comany has closed its doors a couple of years ago

Megatech has not closed it's doors.

Maybe so, but try to get parts for the thing. We had 2 guys running them locally (2 years ago), but got rid of them because parts were IMPOSSIBLE to find.

I know how hard it is to get the parts. I was the UK Neo Distributor for a couple of years. I stopped last year because parts are hard to get.

But according to DSI in Australia the guy was planning to start making parts again but not any full kits. Would be nice because their 235mm car is still really competitive.

Marker;

I think you will be happier if you buy a car that is WELL supported by your local dealers. Nothing dampens a spirit more than having to miss race days because your waiting for replacement parts.

Mach 5 Racer

Maybe you could suggest an intermediate car that has a better support reputation.

I was asking about the NEO TNT because it is the only car I found that is for sale w/o engine & radio that wasn't too expenbsive. I have a sweet HotBodies .18 to put in a car so I have to buy one that doesn't have an engine.

Better that it was a kit, too - instead of an RTR.

Let me know what you think...

It would be possible to run a Neo TNT still. But are you willing to purchase your parts from Australia?

DSI say they still have a large stock left and have no problems getting parts (which I find strange) and they also produce a lot of the parts themselves for the car too.

But if you want a cheap kit that is competitive you will be looking to purchase either the Yokomo GT4 Pro or the NTC3 are nice for the price.
