Default Best Quality/Value Touring car?

Impulse/705
GT-4
Vision
V-One-R/RR
Reflex
MTX-3
STS Pro II
Belt driven/PB style

Which of these are worry free of fitting parts? I hear the 705/Impulse and the Reflex are hard to put together.

I had an Impulse up until a year ago. I loved the car, but I didn't put it together. It seemed to be a tank. (heavy too!)

Which is most durable? (Handle minor accidents, hefty pieces, less wear)

Which is the most value? The regular Reflex, 705, GT4S, Pro II and MTX-3 seem to have quantity for your $. Especially the RFX, ProII, and GT4S.

Where are they manufactured? Serpent Holland. Kyosho Japan. Mugen Japan/Taiwan? Trinity Taiwan? etc.

I ask out of curiousity. Part support is available for all.

I have seen and built several of these cars mentioned for different people. Of the ones I have built I would say that the Yokomo GT4 has to be the best quality for value.

Yes, I do race a Yokomo and love it but that is not influencing me any at all. In fact I will be receiving a new 705 next week.

For the price, the STS Pro 2 might seem like good value but only if you're comfy with a solid rear axle(stock!)....else, you might want to add the price of a rear diff. unit to the kit price.

How about the NTC3? Seems competitively priced.

Cool QUALITY/VALUE

Thats funny you put those two words togather.........
Quality is not VALUE!!!

Serpent has the most Quality out of your choices.
Mugen is a very close second (hell, i think they are about the same)
Kyosho is next.
Then the Reflex.

For VALUE Yokomo is the best.
STS Pro II is next.

My 2 cents

go for the one that will make you happy above all!!

No, I was asking two questions with one thread.

Of the ones I mention which is best value then the other is best quality.

and you'll be using teh car when and how?

I don't think a foam tired, one way equipped PRO car is the best choivce for a parking lot....

you may hate it,but one of the beautiful things about the tc3 is it runs good on rubber OR foam...and its quick tuning ability, and the fact thayt drivetrain choice(one, solid axle, etc) is a 5 minute job..jsu my 2 cents..

I won't buy AE.

It's for racing.

The 705, GT-4, V1RR, Reflex, MTX-3 are all proven good and reliable cars. You can't go wrong with either one.

But then if you've already been accoustomed to the Impulse, I say get the 705. You knwoledge on the Impulse can be applied to the 705 and this will greatly help you along the way.

RC10, RC10LS, RC10T, RC10GT.

well,I I can respect that.....ate its not the typical answer from a person who thinks its a heap......

I have a reflex,it sOK..but the quality's not there(honest to god,I don't know why people beat up teh tc3...everyone rebuilds a refex with v1r parts)..

I also own an impulse...when I run a belt car, thats my favorite.....they're built like a tank..handle well..Serpent ALWAYS has new innovative parts, everything on the car is the highest quality...

I do like Serpent, just wanted to try something new. They all have highs and lows, but I wanted them pointed out. Might stick to them.

Of the Centax clutches...(GT4S, VOneRR, MTX3) are they externally adjustable like the Centax II?

I'm thinking the regular V1R and CV-R from Tower. $195 for the car and $84 for the engine right now.

You should be able to pick up a V1RR for around $270 if you shop around a little. For that price it is one of the best value cars in my opinion due to the fact you get centax, floating rear, swaybars, set of foam tires and stratus body. Can't go too wrong there.

The only place I know is RC model HK. Which is $285, plus $55 shipping.

I don't know if the GT4W has a Centax when you buy the kit... I thought they just came out with one buy I think you need to get it separately. Anyway, a Centax clutch is supposed to be externally adjustable and I think all of them are.

If you are inclined to get the Kyosho, better get the V1RR like what AMGRacer suggested.
