I hope everyone learns from this story.

"Once upon a time, at a track near your backyard...there was a race that everyone stopped to watch. It was the two top dogs, duking it out all day for the TQ running side by side for 29 minutes in a 30 minute 1/8th Open A Main. Car 2 was clearly faster and was the favorite to win the main. At the 29:00 minute mark Car 2 in second place accidentally tagged Car 1 in first place, enough to stuff car 1 into the wall while exiting a turn. The crowd made noise, the marshalls scurried to align car 1. Car 2 traveled to the next turn and pulled out of the line and waited. Everyone was confused. They thougth car 2 broke, in fact he didn't. The lip readers saw car 2 driver say 'my mistake, sorry' to car 1 driver. Car 1 went by, car 2 took off again, back into second. At the next turn, car 1 won the race by 1 car length, car 2 finished second. Car 1 won the season series by 1 point. Car 2 lost the season series by 1 point.

Everyone knew car 2 was faster. Everyone knew car 2 should have won the race and the points series. On the way home, people realized that the way you win counts as much as the win and that car 2 did the right thing."

Very true. A lotmof that occurs here between the gentlemen racers. If you dont you end up with a bad name.

Totally agree, although not everyone would do that. I have yet to see a Speed Channel contestant do that.

Because I already have 3 EV2001 Picco Integras. I need to unload 'coz I'm trying out 1/8 off road buggy racing. You interested? I'll sell it to you for $250.00...rolling chassis and centax clutch, engine mounts.

Yes....

I think Car 2 won. Everybody knew he won...... he was far better then the actual winner.

here at our nitro club races we display the same sort of behavour

well most of us do but there are just some assholes that dont care

u know when u tag sombody and u aint shure if u would of got the position u finished in if u didnt tag the car infront, it just aint racing

i would rather waite for the person and give em a good, fair run to the line

also that way u have all the right to say u beat there ass

My question is, what would be the proper thing to do when racing for 1st place the driver infront makes a mistake and you inherit 1st place? Should I let him catch me or just take the win? I suppose that if he made a mistake it was in part because of me pressuring him/her. What do you guys think?

u can go right on buy without felling nothing

u have to learn to race under presure

some times u have to really presure the driver to get him/her offline

becasue they start concentrating on your car and not there ans end up off worse becase in mostcases trying to slighty block block ya

thats racing but

u cant help how the other driver takes how close u r mentally

Definately. I agree with Brett.

If the other guy makes a mistake then you have shown great racing spirit and rightfully inherited the position. You should only stop and wait if you actually make contact.

I use the pressure method myself. If I cant get past fair I'll sit on his back door and force the mistake that gives me the gap.

People say its dirty play but I see it as proper racing. If the guy cant hack the pressure hes out of his depth

Well thats how the good race car drivers get past in racing like F1, V8's, Formula Ford, and all other forms of racing.

would you be intrested in trading it for an MBX-4XR roller? My friend had his eye on it after selling his RR but I could probly still hook you up if you want it.
