Default Competitive RTR kit??

My buddy and I are looking to get into 200mm 1/10th nitro touring racing. I am going with the higher end Kyosho RRR or Mugen MTX-4 setup but my buddy doesnt have quite the funds for that so he is looking for a RTR. What is a competitive RTR. Is there anything outthere that can hold a candle to the higher end rides? I notice that most the RTR's are built for side exaust engines, which kinda sucks.

to put it in a nice way
1. onroad racing isnt the least expensive, well, no racing is (generally)
2. you shouldnt be racing if you want an rtr, if you dont have the technical know how to put it together then racing will be the least of your worries

Tell him to take a look at the Team Magic G4 RTR Lemans car. The car can be fully upgraded as he likes over time. It sits on a lower level G4S race platform. These street retail for about what your going to give for your chassis kit alone.

Wow the Team Magic car does look like the best alternative to the higher end rides. Thanks for the input.

The Team Magic car is a great RTR car. I was helping a new guy with his Team Magic car this weekend and it was fast and handled great.

I don't think there's any RTR out that will handle better than the G4 lemans out of the box. I've seen them on the track and it is absolutely awesome.

Anyone know of a US dealer where he can pick up that Team Magic G4? He is kinda wary of ordering from Hong Kong.

Motorman is the U.S. importer. There are plenty of sources stateside. I don't have any right now, but I'm sure there are retailers that have them on hand. Perhaps Dennis will offer some sufggestions.
I too, would recomend this car above all other RTR's.

Here is the link to the G4S RTR, team trinity seems to be selling them from the US. This is the direct link to the car on their site.

Hey mxsx,

the absolute best place to purchase Team Magic cars or parts is going to be

www.racedayhobbies.com

Sam is the absolute best person to deal with and can get you your car WAY faster than any other reseller.

The Serpent 710 RTR is another great way to start racing.

But why buy a 710 if it cant be upgraded to 720 spec
Why havent they made a 720 RTR ?

The G4S RTR is basically the same as the Competition version and can be upgraded also with TM's philosophy behind the G4 any future upgrades will apply ,even old model G4 kits.Thats a plus in my book.
