Picco synchro clutch thrust bearings

I heard its nessisary to keep the thrust bearing lubed to achieve optimum performance. whats the best lube for the job here guys? I got the notion to but some black grease on them. Is that fine?

TambokGT 02-02-2003 01:15 PM

ronnie grease.

Uhm....

Sincro wasn't that clutch that instead of weight shoes came with balls and ramps? Had many problems with this clutch type until I found Ronnies Grease.

Lubed the balls and the thrust bearings and lasted much more than I use simple black grease.

Went to Ron paris website and ordered a full tube, today I have almost half tube, enough for another 2 or 3 years.

On mine, I've taken out the cones,(and thrown them as faar as I could) and replaced them with 5.5mm balls, that I got from a place called "Bearings and Drives"...special ordered them, and 100 balls cost me about 12 bucks. I liberaly coat them with Ronnie Grease, I get from Ashford Hobbies, at the sart of each raceday, and again before the Main. I've moved up from 4.5mm balls to the 5.5mm balls, keep an eye on them, and as soon as you see the chrome coming off, or them getting dull, replace that ball.

hmmm. I thought the cones were an upgrade to the balls....intresting

I kept having the cones hang up, and the balls don't. You just have to keep them lubed.
