The following was posted on the TRAP website :
"Well for those whom are not up todate I apologise that I have not come back to this before but the World 1/8 th Championship is to be hosted at TRAP next year (and that's not a rumor anymore).........This is the FASTEST on road event in the World calendar held every 2 years somewhere in the World....and shall have a warm up practice session between the 27th March and 1st April 2007 ... including our local SARDA On Road national event. The World Championship will be held between the 23 rd August till the 3 rd September 2007............There will be around 120 ~130 Factory/International drivers from all over the world. One can expect to see the factory teams here in this period as well for practice sessions for tyre testing, set up's etc.....Lots of ACTION that's for sure........
Once all the relavent commitees have been formed this page will be updated on a more regular basis and allow question's from yourselves so keep our eyes open for this......"
Hope this helps a bit as IFMAR/FAMAR/ROAR/EFRA have not posted anything yet ,for what reason I do not know ,will chat to one of the poeple in charge to post a more apprpriate notice.

Believe nothing until you see it on the IFMAR website.

Razzor, no matter how you word it, this is all unsubstantiated rumor until something official comes from IFMAR. Show me something from Dallas or the Grants and then we'll believe it.

News just in Africa has been screwed over by the powers in charge !
Seems Argentina has some freinds in high places that pushed the decision there way.IFMAR had aggreed to South Africa hosting and made a bungle.
After the sh.t hit the fan they have stepped back and said FAMAR needs to sort things out between Argentina and South Africa ,this after they awarded the event to South Africa.
Contract was supposed to be signed and given to SA representative at the onroad worlds but there were delays and excuses.
So the 1/8th Onroad Worlds will be held in Argentina.Wish them well...................... not!
This notice was posted on the TRAP website.
"Greetings all……It is with regret we have to announce the cancellation of the Worlds I/C 1/8TH 2007 championship to have been hosted at TRAP. There has been a ruling that was not adhered to by the International Originations that has left us “high and dry”.
I wish to thank all the local enthusiast’s and their committees for assisting us in trying to be able to get this prestigious event to South Africa but it was not to be this time round.
SARDA shall pursue this matter for the future and will keep everyone posted.
TRAP board of Directors."

Razzor- I can appreciate your excitement for having a world event, but it was you who made a big deal of it not having had official IFMAR annoucements.. On the IFMAR site it was never stated to be a change from Argentina to S. Africa.. It was you and others from your area who really muddied the waters. It was a problem that would have never been a problem without your help. It would have been fun to go to South Africa but it will also be great to go to Argentina. Good Luck to all those involved in event planning and I hope it goes well for the Argentina Worlds....
