Default TEAM ASSOCIATED NTC3 NITRO TC3 ANYONE STILL RACE THIS?

SO, DOES ANYONE STILL RACE A TEAM ASSOCIATED NITRO TC3? I HAVE HAD A COUPLE OF THEM IN THE PAST FEW YEARS AND I NELIEVE WHEN TUNED THEY ARE A VERY COMPETITIVE CAR. THEY GO HARD AND TURN CORNERS LIKE ITS ON RAILS. I WAS THINKING OF ALSO GETTING INTO 1/10TH NITRO AT MY CLUB AND WAS THINKING OF USING MY NTC3.
ANY THOUGHTS GUYS? ANYONE RACE THIS CAR STILL?

THANKS

Default nitro tc3

i still do race it every now and then, and its good for small tracks or short races, but not for 30 to 45 minute races. you can keep up with serpents and mugens with the ntc3, but for some reason its not as durable and consistent for me in long races. i'm sure you can make it work, but its just so much easier to run my G4S/G4 in long races.. and go fast.

i'm in the same boat. i have a ntc3 with all the mods and i want to get into serious racing. is the car still competitive or has the technology advanced so much that it'd be left in the dust?

The NTC3 can still be competitive with the newer cars. That being said, it no longer has it's advantages over the rest of the field (ie free rolling, high corner speed) and it's disadvantages (ie weaker parts) are more apparent compared to the the RRR/MTX4/720/G4.

The newer more powerful engines cause havoc on the diffs, which usually means you're not going to make a full 30 min main before they strip (one of our local racers usually was out by the 23 min mark due to this problem).

It's not so much as it's been left in the dust, but the rest of the cars have improved more with fewer weaknesses.

It's still a good car for beginners, but that's about it. IMO!!

Yes , But the ntc3 uses delrin gears not steel. The configuration of the NTC3 diff is totally different than todays diffs. The NTC3 is a semi beefed up electric car. I don't believed it was designed to handle the power of today's .12.

One of the newer guys racing at our club runs an NTC3 but he is forever stripping diffs apart from other brittle bits that let go!

I still race my NTC3 on club races and won this year's last race!

But our mains are only 20 minutes, and I rebuild the diffs before every race.

Next year I will probably run a V1RRR, though...

Someone told me that when Barry B ran the NTC3 he changed his diff gears every qualifier.

........................Darkangel pretty much hit the nail on the head. The NTC-3 is fast but delicate with diff gears that don't hold up in 30 minute mains. Makes a good beginneers car intermediate but as your skills improve it will be time to move on to a better racer like Serpent , Mugen, or V1RRR.

Default FW05 Diffs

Guys I know this is off topic sorry, but does the Kyosho FW05 have the same diff and shaft issue with the newer more powerful .12 engines as with the NTC3? ?

My friend races this car and he did have problems stripping his gears when he used his sirio evo 3. He has moved up to a V1RRR now.
