which nitro tourer

I may be in the market for a new nitro touring car. First Im fairly new to this form of racing. Right now I do have a mtx3 prospec with a x12 engine. I see that mugen now has had the mtx4 out for a while now and was wondering how it compares to my mtx3. I guess my question is do I really need to get a new ride or will my current prospec be up for the job. Sorry for the newbie questions

Wait for the mtx-4 prospec. If your new to nitro, just get the equipment to support yourself rather than trying to get the hottest car at the moment.

Youll do fine in an mtx-3.

I agree with Artificial-I. Mtx-3 fine for you at the moment. I would try to improve myself the best I can with that car, and when you think, that it is time to get a better one, then I would go for it. From my point of view, as important as the car, maybe more important, is to learn how to set up the car, how to adjust the engine, how to learn what tires to use etc etc. There is a long list, it is a great hobby, I started with Serpent Impulse and learned a lot on that car and then moved on to 710.

i have a v1RR(few years old) and it still puts up a good fight vs. the other top high end touring cars that are out rite now(MTX-4, V1RRR, 710). I suggest just getting vital option parts that will help you steer/go better and faster.

Learn to set up the car correctly and drive a bit slower a learn the lines of the track...all the top car of the past years are all good, the driver is what makes them best

The fastest guy at my track runs an MTX-3, and kills all of the other drivers with 4's and RRR's. So, it really isn't the car, it's your set-up and driving skills. So with that car, and that engine, I say you are in good shape for now!!!

Tamiya Mk.2 Pro. gets my vote. I've owned all the top cars and have come to like this one the most.

Cheers and good luck,
