Default Novarossi NS12S3

From what I understand it is the same thing as the Mugen X12? Are there any online retailers that still sell these? I just picked one up for $211 shipped with a head shim, curious if I over paid.

I still have one of those (well... my last was a NSR whose main difference was the microcasted piston). Circa 2004, only 5 or 6 litres, still lots of compression and power. In fact, have some great motors still running and from previous years (RS12, MR12, NS/NSR, RR12L3,...) liked a lot and enjoyed too.

Cannot say anything about the price, but seems to me a little outdated that price. And for the other question, yes... AFAIK the NS12 is the same as the Mugen X12.

It is still a very good motor. Send it to Uriah Murnan and have him modify it. It will be as fast as anything out there for less money.

Is an old engine, but well tuned by capable hands (and of course, a steady hand doing carb adj) is a really quick Mofo... Some weeks ago, a friend of mine needed a spare engine in a rush and handed it my trusty and old RR12L3 and after the race he was very insistent about selling to it my engine.

I would say it is just an older model engine (like 2 years older)...$211 is a good price for any Nova Rossi engine, and you have the extra head shim as well............and if you look at their spec at Nova Rossi site, I would say it is just as good and as fast as the current or the last year model.....the LL3, RR 12, LS3 and NSR12S3 are the model after your engine, and their HP spec are from 1.52hp to the fastest 1.6HP for the 12 Plus 3....That extra 0.08HP is something I don't think you can tell from your bare eye.

Beside, good luck to find yourself a 12 Plus 3 for $211....may be $311, hardly.

Enjoy your engine....Nova Rossi engine is garantee a fast engine.

Rc mushroom is Hong Kong. Expensive shipping to the USA. Best to support local dealers.

RC toro: Grey market seller. Not expensive shipping, but no support in the USA.

Murnan modded engine is $389 not $295.

I would go with the Murnan for $389. It has been said that it is his fastest engine to date. I know he puts out some killer motors.

Well I figured I'd get one of the last gen CNC pison mills. Plus I couldn't justify spending an additional $50 for a minor hp increase. People seem to complain about the life of the microcast brothers.
