Dennis:

I don't believe it. Besides, you have that special quality all of us racers have: immaturity!

Dennis:

I broke in and ran my MR12 today. Nice motor, but I can say is one thing: "STOCK MOTORS SUCK!"

You've ruined me; I can't drive one and be happy anymore. The MTX3 is awesome though. Gimme a call this weekend and I'll relay my experience with the car.

Hehehe... you have the venom under your skin... From this day until the end of the days, all stock engines will seem to you soft and boring.

Doing some wrenching on some cockroaches . Diving on this pages found some interesting information about, but need to do some testing and probably more information could be interesting (messing on new sleeves and cranks is quite expensive )

Default Uneven silhouette on the piston (see pic)

Dennis:

I'm doing some research on modding my engines to find more power on it. Seems that I'm getting good results (none stellar, but starts to be promising - don't fear about)

This 'volunteer' got some enlargement on the exhaust port (now 4.32mm of height) and the crank of the Rody version, the engine is an stock RB X12 with turbo plug.

After 1.5 litres of fuel wanted to see how it was on the inners, so lifted the head and found those uneven marks on the piston around the exhaust port. What causes this? Excessive exhaust timing (can send you the exhaust timing by PM if this can mean something)? too much pipe backpressure? Too low induction? Tried to gather some information, but none told me nothing plausible. Some said that was bad, other that I didn't care about this... what's your opinion

Another question: planning to deck the lower side of the head and remove the shims (to compensate the decking of the head and maintain the CR). I have access to a precision grounding surface and polishing compound that not protrudes on the aluminium. What you think about decking the head and maintaining the CR to place the plug near to the piston.

Dennis,
Ever since I heard of you (2 to 3 years ago) I was picturing Dennis Richey as one of those ZZ TOP guys....you know old men with beards that work on like those NASCARs.
Sorry about that...but still you look very young considering the amount of stuff you have in your mechanical brain.

Default Vegas

Hey Dennis, I do not know about the buyin' part but, I did meet quite a few nice librarians at the library. We will have to go say hi to them when we are back there for the Speedline race. I think we could probably get Tracy or Chris to buy. (You know all the money is in Cali!!)
I think we need to bronze my current .12 motor. That damn thing won't die and believe me I'm trying to kill it. It still wins all the drag races with the 1/10th open cars. (they love that by the way).
Talk at ya later dude. (I got a good baseline for the mtx3 for Vegas).
