What is the difference between the 2? Horse power wise? top rpm wise?

Sorry I don't have the numbers. Not sure any dyno testing was done. I saw an RTO run and it pulled away from an 1/8 scale.

WOW, im getting a reflex, and i have talked to Dennis, about a engine that fits our rules(norway). I will be getting a RTO open(non turbo plug), with a 5,5mm carb. Thats the max of our rules. Cant wait till i get that thing(have to send dennis some money )
It would be real COOL if i could atleast kick some impact ass on our big 1/8 scale track (250meters).

This next season i'm NOT going to be passed on the back straight by some sponsored driver( A guy i know gets everything from the shop and i just have to beat him.)

If it saves an engine its worth every penny.

PS I have never had or seen one fail, EVER!

Turn around is three weeks, New engines preferred but I have done a few low mileage ones. 5 tanks or less. Anything more than that and I cant control certain aspects of the engines so I won't do them. Even at 5 tanks I will return it if it is unfit for rework.

Dennis,

What exactly happens to the engine in 5 tanks that makes it unsuitable for mod?

HF not ignoring you I've just been busy lately. I will respond soon.
Dennis,

I sent my MT-12 anyway, you should have it by Tuesday....it has about 8 tanks on it....let me know if it's still OK to work on....

when I'm done modifying a 12 novarossi they are all equal on top end with the exception that the Mugen has a longer rod like a side port CX 12 engine. It is the only long rod rear exhaust novarossi 12. In modified form it gives the MT an infield torque advantage over its short rod cousins
Hi,Dennis. I'm a lurking fan saving my $ for one of your 12s.
I thought the Mugen 12s were torquey down low! I ran a modded Colt 12 in my Ob4, got great mid & top end, (smoking 1 horse 12s) But I wanted better power down low (lasted almost 4 1/2 gallons) so I geared it:13-18, 45-40. The mugens I've seen have great power down low, but dont rev like an RB.
So your Mugen 12s have that great torque down low, but rev much stronger & higher?
Hmmm nice. I dig that. Someone told me torque is a function of crankshaft/conrod geometry.
On those new Piccos 12s, (I've got 2 years in nitro). I got one for a song after seeing 2 friends with them. The 2 friends said they were easier to tune, one friend had 2 older piccos (eck) Rods and carb defects, he actually took a drill to one carb where the hi end needle sits, claimed the hole was too small causing it to be lean. He got 6 gallons (& a couple of Rods) from those old piccos. Any way the new Piccos dont seem like the old ones for sure.

Flattery will get you nowhere, LOL. Anyone that takes a dremel to 15 fe or whatever should see that all you get is Rpm.
I helped a friend do up an Ofna 17. Better torque than the 12. Now it revs too. All I've been doing is making the transfer ports look like those JP pics, Knife edge the rod & the counterweight on the crank. Slinger groove too. Breaks up the fuel mix. Though thats what the Conely fuel injection does, just better.

So MM should I be looking at one of your Mugen 12s for my OB4, it likes to run on med to large tracks, and is always has to get thru that slower HPI traffic in the turns. Just kidding guys. I do have a Racer 2. The best Rs4 ever made.
