no....I heard that all STS motors are Taiwaneese motors, just dont know witch brand or Mfg.

Apparently they machine all their own engines but they copied the designs of Novarossi.

Default Dyno Question

I am currently in the process of making my own nito motor dyno similar to the one that is on RCBoat.com, it will be an inertial dyno. My question is what is the typical max rpm that a nitro motor could sustain for a few seconds without causing harm to the internal's? I need to set the rpm cut-off and don't know what would be to high.

I also see that you are creating your own dyno, and wanted to know what, if you don't mind, you are using as an optical trigger if you are? I was thinking infared, but don't know.

STS is manufactured by STS (www.stsrc.com.tw) and in US distributed by teamcrc (www.teamcrc.com).

I have received the hand modified version of the 3 port .12 engine. I own a JP black. The crank scoop, sleeve cuttings are very similar, well . . quite similar. . as the JP (talk about taiwanese copying everything :-) )

but for it's price I think the performance is very good and I like it.

If they do come out with a .21 size engine, I would like to try one.
