what about blue thunder and o'donnell? They any good? Also - do you have to shim the engine in order to run 30%?

Experienced nitro racers, what nitro content and lube content would you recommend for "breaking-in" a .15 pull start Picco(side exhaust)? The engine is outfitted with the stock side exhaust manifold and pipe from Team Associated and I plan on using the Ofna/Picco medium heat glowplug. All comments and recommendations will be greatly appreciated- Thanks.

Hey nitro racers, If possible, I could really use some help with the "breaking-in" settings for the carb on a new Picco. The manual says the initial settings for the carb are 1.5 turns out on the high speed needle and 3.5 turns out on the low speed needle. Now the bottom of the box that the motor came in says that "The following carb settings must be used to insure the engine is running correctly. Running the engine too lean will cause failure to the rod and piston due to lack of lubricant:
  • 2 turns out on the high end needle
  • with the carb held wide open, the low end needle should be 2.5 turns out

Any advice for carb settings on a new Picco for breaking it in? All help is greatly appreciated.

Check Paris Racing's site. They have good breakin and tuning instructions for Nova and Picco based engines.

Dennis, i just have to say that this engine you sent me really kicks ass.. i had to brake hard as to not crash into the rear of a impact M2(with the club champion driving), and he was like" what the f*** is that... ". I guess he doesnt get passed my too many fuel touring cars!!!

Anyway, i raced the car yesterday, and i almost won, It was the traditional mixed race( electric, and fuel at the same time) that we always start the outdoor season with. The 2guys infront are 4 and 3 times National champions.. And i lowered my personal best for our track by almost 0,5 sec, with a new car, no setup time, cold running engine, that was getting too much fuel at low revs etc.. Cant wait till i get this car sorted etc.. Nothing could touch it on the back straight though. I pulled atleast 5meters on EVERYONE!!!!!
I love my car right now(trinity reflex, box xtock , setup and all)

Motorman indicated July to me in a recent email. RTU is the "cheapest".
