Default RTU's

These RTU engines sound like the way to go. Can anybody tell me if there available in Australia?

ChrisF,

Nice meeting you. There were alot of fast sedans today at the race. By far, RTUs dominated the A Main. HOLY CRAP! did those RTUs ever rev! My car was loose all day and with 1 min to go in the B main to bump up to the A, I got T boned and tweaked a steering tie rod. Bummer! But, all and all had a good time and after a full day of racing, a cracked front bumper and a bent tie rod isn't too bad. The TC3 is badazz!

Glitch:

Yeah, maybe next time I'll try Dennis' recommended gearing too. I started with 21/27 and 48/54 and found it flat. Went to 22/26 and cut the header 1/2" and WOW. I'll try the 21/25 next time. Even with one tooth bigger, the motor had tons of bottom end and pulled most cars in the straight and infield. I struggled with a pushing problem most of the day so I think my times will improve.

Also, in case you weren't aware, there are usually 2 - 3 guys who run 18 lap qualifiers at CP. Yesterday EVERY driver in the A ran 18 laps. Entry level class my butt!

Some perspective: when the Yokomo GT4 came out, their team driver Shin Adachi came out and destroyed everyone at CP with the car. At the time (a little over a year and a half ago) he ran a blistering lap of 16.9. Yesterday, the TQ was clicking off 16.0's consistently.

ChrisF,

What spurs are you running with the 22/26 and 21/25 combos? With 21/27 and 48/54 I was lacking in accelleration but, I kept up with Tennessee on the straight. I'll be at Crystal on Wed doing some R&D. I cannot make the Revelations race on the 28th due to pre wedding plans. Originally, my company was sending me to the Nascar race in Fontana on the 28th to help represent one of the major sponsers but, I had to turn that down for the same reason. Man, this wedding thing is really hampering my funtime! Oh by the way, how's the track at Hot Rods? I heard some good thing about it but, I don't know if it's worth the drive.

Motorman,

As soon as I can get a MT12, I'll be sending right to ya. Your terror machines dominated the sedan race yesterday. Oh, thanks for the phone call. My fiancee had changed our long distance carrier to 1010220 so I have to dial that first. Anyway, the number you gave me is fine. Problem solved.

Heh, people are JP mad over here. I have pulled them down and they are basically a "cleaned up" and possibly blueprinted engine with some port smoothing and polishing. The black case is great however, looks evil and probably keeps the temps down. But as far as I can see there is none or no significant changes to timings.

I ran a CX12 and JP CX12 back to back in the same chassis and never noticed any significant difference in my laptimes at all. RTU on the other hand.............

Dennis tries to be modest most of the time, but at least I can say, he makes the fastest ROAR legal and fastest non-ROAR legal .12's in the world. Period. I've either run or raced against them all.

In addition to the E-Mail that I sent you I was wondering if you know if the new Novarossi RS3 is any better than the colari .12. Next I wanted to know what the difference between the RTU and the RTO, what makes one an "outlaw" motor. I also wanted to know if you do work to motors if sent into you. Thank you.

Hey LB - If you want one you can order straight from Dennis in USA. As far as I have heard AMG Racer is the only one in Australia that has got one ! ( He may know of more )

Only reason I havn't got one is that the racing is pretty fair and even at the moment at our track. You will only be the second guy to run a JP. If one of us gets an RTU and it kicks arzz then everyone is up for dollars again to be able to compete !!!
