The key on the RTO is not to lug the engine. It needs to rev very high with a loose clutch and a high shift point. The second gear slingshot will amaze you. Rev the hell out of it.
Hi Dennis. I have one of your engines (RTU serial 522) just after some info. I run 16% nitro, what head shimming do you recommend?

Also I run a V1R with an internal ratio of 2.58. My 1st gear final drive is 48/16 (3) giving final drive of 7.74 and 2nd gear is 5.40, are these near the ballpark figures you run on your Mugen?

When you say loose clutch you mean high engagment point? I have my Mugen centax set at 1.0mm on the adjuster nut with .5mm end float, any recommendations? You can PM me or answer me here whatever you prefer Thanks for your help!!

Motorman: Actually, I was able to get just a tad over 7 minutes per tank. I was using 30% fuel. Since I was using the higher nitro, I was able to lean out the motor even more. With the 20% I didn't get much runtime. As for reliability guys...my first motor lasted over 3 tanks. The conrod bushing finally disintegrated which is usually expected. I'm sure it probably could have gone longer had I not been lazy to disassemble the engine and check the conrod bushing. The best part is that the motor really came to life after the 1st gallon. The first gallon was run on 20% and the rest on 30%. I can't wait for nitro season here. The only motor that I will run now is an RTU (probably the RTO this season)

Question for everyone: Has anyone used a "Buggy" cooling head for a sedan? Both RB and Novarossi have pictures on their respective sites. They appear to be normal heads just with a few more fins on top. Would the benifits be small in a sedan?

Default What the best exhaust??

To Motorman:

What is the best exhaust and header combo out there in your opinion for your 9 port eagle?? I'm looking to buy a pipe and header or a one piece for the engine. I'm running a mtx-2 geared 17/47 21/43 with a straight on my home track that is at least 175-200 ft. Thanks in advance.

Ps: I'm the guy that order the two 9 port eagles: sneaky:

Those pinions huh? Would you say that the Eagle's performance is really in the top end and not neccesarily low end power?

i was wondering what fuel you would recommend for a OS TR, and which after run oil? i ran a cvr last summer with BT fuel, however i do think it hindered my lap times, and it had alot of lube in it, so ididnt run after run oil in it.

also, as far as modding a TR, how, much do you think it will help the engine, and what are the down sides so far?

thanks!
