it seems that most of the fast engines esp. the M. speed are very hard to find, do you guys recomend a place to get these fast engines from? im in New Jersey and their not really that much local (as far as I know) and I cant find any of these on the internet. What is a novarossi plus 12ct? and where can I get a evo 3sti.

Murnanmodified.com. He sells stock engines as well, 12-3 and Evo III...

Yes stock Plus 3ct will do. You will beat JP mod. But if he bought Plus 12 3CT mod by JP well he beat you again.

Brute horsepower isn't the definitive answer, the answer is to maintain a global higher speed around the track (is cheaper than burning lots of bucks). Doesn't matter if you're quicker on the backstraight if you're going like a turtle on the rest of the track. A 12-3 mod by JP is a huge chunk of change.

If he wants to drag then it really dont matter what engine you have out of the ones listed here. It will come down to Clutch setting, Tunning and gearing.

If it was me I would run the CRF with 57mm tyres and 61/15 56/20 gearing and the clutch engaging around 35,000 RPM. The engine should tick over around 215 Deg f and turn the middle needle in 1/8th turn so the motor runs lean as you open the throttle.

Teddy Syachs was running a 5 port EVO 3 at the Kyosho World up and it cut out around 20 times. He was in the F final and only bumped up to the D.

I would stick to the 3 port

Cheers

ok

thanks for the help so far. what I gather is if I get a stock evo r sti or a nova plus r ct that will do the job fot now. is this correct? these 3 ports must really be fast to go against a jp 5. again if I'm correct I think ill go with the novarossi

i have never seen a 3 port being able to hang with a 5 port. unless you were talking about a no brand, cheap 5 port versus a nova 3 port. but the fx is a nova based engine and modified by one of the best modifiers in the world, so to hang with that engine, i would definitely go with a 5 port modified engine. i would say a murnan mod engine and also you can pm him on this forum and ask him what the best solution to your situation would be. his screenname is grinder. he will hook you up, good guy and fast engines.
