I would keep the Mongoose. You will get caught into the online price wars and will end up ordering parts (waiting) anyway.

My MTX-4 seems a little more stable when driving. This would be my pick if I had to choose again!!

Another option would be to get a hardly used or a new MTX-3 Prospec. Thay are still great cars.

i dont mind ordering parts if they are available and cheap, I might just get the Regular R40 version throw in some steering bearings and light weight 2-speed and call it finished.

though the G4S does have the UFO clutch which is a new design

New designs can't do one any good without drivers skill and knownledge of the track type. That's how Hara managed to win over a field of newer cars with a R40 and couple upgrades...twice. With that being said, there are some really great G4S drivers. You can't really say give a great driver a bad car and they will win though. Whatever car a driver feels most comfortable and fastest with they will use it. The sponsered guys... that's different. A lot of answers will come in based on whether a person is loyal and or preference. Ones preference won't be yours though...another thing to consider. Durability each car can have a weakness, but the main weakness is the track barriers as they'd take down any brand of car whether it's mugen, kyosho, or serpent. The Mtx3 is still a great car and almost anyone can win with it. It may be discontinued or just have low availability of parts in the future though. That's were you stock up on all those who are selling theirs for cheap. Think about it...endless amounts of parts partially used or NIB for great prices. You make the call from here. Ordering on the net can be good, but what you do is order in bulk. Don't order few stuff here n there. For a few parts it's better to just go to the LHS.

Another vote for G4S, because you already has a Mongoose, G4S will not be a whole new car for you even though it is much improved. your Mongoose can be kept as parts for G4S without buying new spare parts.

the car is truely durable. my user name tell you who I am yet I can't break anything ever since I get the car few months ago ( it is a running car, not on shlef ) the car is no doubts a performer and easy to drive. i think that is why I don't destroy it every 2 weekend

I also like the g4s because the parts I have broken were a front hub carrier and a rear left bulkhead and rear plate, all these things come in a perimeter crash
