I normally cut the rears at -2.0deg. camaber in them to start. Should I start with less? It just seems that they only run on the inside edge during a 5 minute run if I cut less than 2 deg into them and run -3.0deg camber.

Front's I cut pretty square or at most 1 deg. in them at times.

What tire size? Sounds like your car is asking you for more static camber or more camber rise/gain. Andrew Schweitzer. I might be there Sunday.

On both my cars I checked last night.....

-3.0deg. camber with the option upper arm mount in the middle holes, 2mm shims under the upper link and both currently had 71/64 tires on them.

My Hudy will only cut to -2.0deg, and the tires are just scrubbing the inner edge off until they "wear" in with some hot laps.

Hello everybody!

First of all excuses for my english which is not very good! I`m posting from spain. I've been reading this phorum quite a long time ago and I decided to start writing also

I`m mugen team driver in Spain, I started racing mugen chasis in 2003, but since 1989 have been racing bmt, picco (genesis,rs600, compact, integra), serpent (vector98, vector 2000). Switched to mugen with mrx3 works in 2003, and in 2005 became mugen team driver with mrx4, and I must say its the best chasis i`ve had in 20 years of 1:8th racing.

I enjoy reading your posts about the mrx4 and mrx4-R and would like also to start posting about technical matters regarding the chasis , asking and answering info in order to feedback the most info for everybody.

Here the tracks are completely different to the states tracks. I've been in the winternats 04 just to see and pit and like a lot the good feeling at the track and the pits. You really know how to have fun racing! Although I prefer European tracks I have to admit the feeling, the friendship and the show its much much better in usa.

Im looking forward to attend the winters again, not in 07 because this season is very busy here as I have European Championship 2.000 miles from home by car this summer and the national champ in my country is 4 races, plus a couple of regional races it too much.

In 04winternats I met Ron a very nice guy and great driver form usa at the nats, he raced mugen in 04, afterwards switched to kyosho and came back to mugen as team driver, I suppose some would know him. Also met Ritchey, Rasheed, Gary, Chris from NY (Brooklyn hobbies) and have nice remember of all them.

Maybe this is not the most suitable post to write this but as its about mrx4 I thought to introduce myself here in this post would be OK, sorry for the long speech!

I enclose some photos of my 06 season with MRX4-R

Kindest regards form Spain.

Quick question.... why is everyone taping the INS box???
Is this for strength in fear that it may become separated, or is there an air leak???
i never tape mine.

The screw in the top of the INS box DOES NOT hold the half's together but only the upper baffle into the top of the box. People tape the side seam to keep the halves together so the top will not pop off. The inlet holes are on the side so you don't really have a lot of room to tape but it saves the "walk the track to find the top of my INS box walk"

thanks ! the last photos are with a bodyshell given me as present from the distributor and top world driver 1:8tt Daniel Vega, the colours and design is from him and the ssame he uses both in MBX5 and MRX4. my bodys are more conventional just one or two colors as the classic white and black triangle.

I tape the INS box for both dont loosing it in a roll over and basically to make the air come into the INS just by the two holes and avoid air coming into from the gaps which would be an inconsistant flow. That way when you obture with your fingers the two big holes the engine should stop quickcly, what means no air is coming through the gaps of the ins nor throuhg any gap between the venturi and the air filter adapter.

Regards!

Very simple. Just look at the chassis. There is no cooling slot right underneath the engine.
