my dad has a jp r03 in his mrx4r.everything is still brand new.he prefers drag racing in our local parking lots.what a waste.the motor has only run about 5 tanks of fuel.we ordered it factory run in.that baby revs.mugen jp took the south african nats again this year

I ran the R03 for two years and it ran great. It was expensive to maintain and very sensitive to tuning. Now with the Ninja, all around much cheaper with the same amount of power. Can't beat that.

I never ran RB so I can't comment there.

Sohlman,

What head clearance do you run with your Ninja> What Nitro% and what elevation is your track? CP is at sea level, you may want to add a shim.

I'm running my Ninja's clearance pretty low with 30%. I live and run at sea level so it may be cool. I took a shim out at the Nats, but I may put it back in. We'll see. Can't wait to come out west for the T4T race...oh yeah, my flight is tomorrow.

Thats cool...........you are going to get to practice on Thursday? I won't get there until Friday around noon, but I have been there about 500 times so it is all good. I measured my last Ninja at only 19 thousandths, that is pretty tight for a .21.

Mostly set up on Thursday...practice Friday. And 19 thousandths (.48620mm) is a bit tight. But if it works...

Ninjas lasted longer for me which make them cheaper in the long run. I feel ya Paul, but like they say "you get what you pay for."

The R01A has a new rod and bearings (both).
Are the rod and bearings available yet??

Not sure if they are available separately yet. You can always email Mugen Seiki USA.

Otherwise, I will find out.

Forget the C6. The pistons are paper thin and the seal is gone REAL fast! I talked to a few people that ran them at the GLC and the Nat's..... they had the same experience as me. I'd look elsewhere.

I quit running RB engines one time, only to return. They are some of the most dependable engines on the market. I ran 10 races on my last Rody C6, all with 30 min. mains. Never opened the back plate. The engine is still in good shape with very little drop off in performance.

Default rb

1 of the senior club members only run rb engines.he has 2 c5 rody's c4c and a c3c.he ran his c5 rody 4 years untouched.thats impressive.he uses his jp kangaroo for club racing and his rody for nats.in my opinion,rb makes killer engines that last.
