I know this sound stupid but i was curious about it and never remember to ask. Does rechargable battery last as long as the regular one or wont last as long?

Rechargeables last so much longer than regular batteries because when they drain down, you can recharge them. As for length of charge, regular batteries will last longer.

Guys;

I have 2 Futaba 3PDFM radios. One has Alkalines in the TX the other has 1600 Mah NiMh's. The Alkalines will last 3-4 weekends before needing to be replaced.
I can go at least 2 weekends before recharging my NiMh's but always charge them the night before for the added voltage.

get those 2000mah batts.....last a lot longer than the 1600mah. Right now I am using it in my TX and and with just one full charged , I finished the entire race (3 qualifiers, 10 minute main) and still the charge is strong and ready for next weeks race.

I use 1800Mah NiMh batteries in my transmitter, and a 5-cell 1000Mah NiCad reciever pack. I don't think they were fully charged at the last race meeting, but they lasted about 45 - 50 minutes of driving.

I think they could've gone at least 1 1/4 hours, when I got home I switched the Tx and Rx on to discharge them and it took about 5 - 8 hours for the Rx pack to die! I know it'd die quicker if I was driving the car, but now I don't have to worry about how long they'll last .

I was worrying when I was using 4 old 600Mah NiCads for the reciever battery and 8 of the same in the transmitter.
