As we continue to examine our Options and Opportunities for our Club (hoping for answers very soon), our members are planning on some Great Road Trips.

The MidWest Series visits Mentor Ohio this weekend.

The Second Round of the 2008 Great Lakes RC PRO SERIES is at Toledo on July 12 and 13.

Many of our members are going to the Great Lakes Challenge in Toledo in August.

11 of our group are registered for the 2008 ROAR 8th Nitro On Road Nationals at 301.

This from our Club Website - by Bill McLean:

New Site at CAMERON MOTORSPORTS GO KART COMPLEX in Hamilton by the Airport. No more Sound Issues!

We have awesome news!!!!!!!!!!!
We have a verbal agreement which will be put into writing with Bob Cameron.
Here is the content of the agreement

Bob will allow us to build a track at the west end of the existing parking lot which currently has gravel and reclaimed asphalt base.

The club will be required to cover the cost of the asphalt.

The club will NOT be charged rent until we have the asphalting cost recovered probably 8-10 years.

After the cost have been recovered we will be required to pay a nominal annual rent.

The track will need to be torn down for Bob's major karting events which will vary each year but will be between 1-3 events a year and they do not run these events during the months of June, July and August.

The track will be available for practice to CLUB members during the week.

Bob will be having a paving company in in August to do more paving to his kart track, we would like to do our paving at the same time. To do this we need to raise funds ASAP. We would like to schedule a meeting for this Friday at the Kelsey`s on Upper James street so we can drop by Cameron motor sports ofter the meeting. We will discuss options to funding the new track.

I know you all probably have tons of questions so come on out to the meeting and we will try to answer them in person.
I will get the address and post later but for now we calling the meeting to start at 6pm and you are more then welcome to join us later if you can not make 6pm.

See you at the meeting.

Will we see the 1st Annual CAN AM CHALLENGE Paint Ball / Go Kart Competition at the 2009 RC PRO CAN AM CHALLENGE? Paint Ball after Friday's Practice and Go Karts after Saturday Qualifing. It could happen. Just think, you could shoot the guy that took you out in practice.

If we get this location, there is a HUGE Paintball Field and Go Kart Track on site.

This and many items will be discussed at the meeting on Friday.

Yes, things are really looking good. I'm proceeding to work out the current cost of laying new asphalt on the track site. The existing track at 75 Frid Street resides on an asphalt surface measuring 230' x 135'. The new layout will be based upon a 250' x 125' area. This will result in a slightly revised layout. However the flowing design, sweeping European style turns and car friendly barrier system will be maintained. It is also possible for us to paint the infield sections for that true permanent appearance.

As John has mentioned we are proceeding to work out the paper work side of our agreement with Cameron Motorsports Park. This hopefully will be completed within a few weeks.

We discussed our fund raising options last night and ultimately a number of people came forward with a commitment to invest in our Club. The Club will be paying its investors an annual rate of interest in addition to fully repaying the their investments over a 5-8 year period, based on our current attendance levels.

We have the potential of making this one of the finest RC On Road tracks in North America and I believe that we are close as we're ever going to get to achieving this goal. In my opinion we could be operational once again before the end of August.

However, we're only 75% of the way there. We are need of additional people who are interested in making this new track a reality. We need your support and your investment. If anyone requires additional detail, please feel free to phone, email or PM me.

We need your support, commitment and involvement to make this a reality!!

Thanks to all those attending the meeting last night and for their support. I agree with Gary we have the chance to make this a top 5 race track in North America. Bob Cameron is a huge part of this opportunity and his understanding and being a huge race fan is making this possible. I will be away on vacation for a week and then off to the GLC. See everyone there.
