Mother Nature and I have been working together this evening preparing the track surface. I've cleaned the track of any lose granular gritties. Mother Nature followed up with a good dowsing of showers. There was more rain coming down as I left the track. The track should be in great shape for racing tomorrow. Dave P. has been doing some experimentation with traction compound mixtures this past week. It'll be interesting to see what our stiction maestro comes up with this weekend. Slight chance of showers this weekend. I don't expect them to have much of an effect on our plans. Very nice mid twenties temperature in the forecast as well. Should be an awesome weekend!

Racers, don't forget to bring your Mojo.

We put 3 rounds of qualifying in today.

Here's the current plan for tomorrow:

Open practice until 9:45am
4th round of qualifying to start at 10:00am
Track closed at 11:10am until 11:35am as requested by our neighbour, the Unitarian Church on Dundurn St.
5th round of qualifying to start at 11:45am
Mains afterwards

Let's hope that Mother Nature has an attitude adjustment this evening.

James Mak is TQ with 16 Laps in 5:23.322 in 1/8 Open
Wayne Vince is TQ with 15 Laps 5:17.009 in Sedan
No entries in 5th Scale today.

Does anyone have an Airtronics M8 or M11 that Taurean could borrow for tomorrow? He's come all the way from NYC and his M11 has gone on the fritz. Bill McLean lent him his M11 (Taurean has his own DSM module) but he scratched 2 qualifiers as they're running in the same heat. How's that for generosity? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Agnes was bummed we had to cancel as well she was looking forward to coming out again.

The track is dry, the sky is blue and I don't see any clouds that might affect today's racing plans. It looks like a great day for nitro on road racing!

CHEAP THRILLS

SCAR! (Sportsman Canadian Auto Racing!) has hit the Track. I bolted in a New out of the box Dynamite $150 Engine, broke it in today at the track, ran 15 Laps in Qualifier Number 1, 15 Laps in Qualifier Number 2, Qualified 3rd, ran 86 Laps in the A Main to take second with a Best Lap of 19.8.

CHEAP THRILLS coming to 8th Scale in 2008!

SCAR! 8th Scale vs ROAR 8th Scale - HEADS UP on the Track at the same time.

Who says you need expensive motors to Go Fast and have FUN? Think again!

More SCAR! News soon.

Bill - the Traction was pretty good, not as good as the Nationals. The engine had lots of grunt off the corners and respectable speed down the straight. I'll try different manifolds and gearing and post the results. My car is heavy with the AA Batteries.

More SCAR News soon. CHEAP THRILLS

Dave Presnail has a SCAR! Dynamite that he will be bolting into his MUGEN 8th Scale. He'll be out for the next race.

In the Mid West Series Competition, the 1/8th Open and Masters’ classes are combined to ensure the level of competition is high, but the points are scored separately. The same concept will be used in Hamilton in 2008, the 1/8th Open and 1/8th SCAR! will be combined to ensure the level of competition is high, but the points will be scored seperately.
