Default Foams

I've heard all GRP based foamies are gonna sky rocket in price...especially 8th onroad tires. It may be due to the tire shortage that's listed on Bruckners site. I just thought I'd like to promote my LHS brand of tires called Spyder tires. They are really sturdy, comes in shores 35, 37, and 40 for sedan and 8th onroad. Sedan rims are dish rims. There is a sale right now on both, $10 a pr for sedans $20 for the set, and $28 for a set of 8ths, 4 sets for $100.

These are the 8th tires. The sedans are dish rims, same type of foam.

I'm confused, you say THS is starting it's own line of tires but the pictures are of Enneti Spider tires?

Sry I ment to say my LHS brand of tires, not my personal brand. Those tires ARE the store brand - THS tires. They've had these tires for a while now.

I think the the shortage was in part due to the merger with Hobbico. I dont think there will be any shortages when this is final. I dont know if prices will go down any though.

I've been running the spyder tires and I like the way they perform. They hold together well and don't chunk as bad as some others, and the rims seem to be able to take a hit too.

Tower has 1/10 Touring listed for $18.49 per pair and $33.99 Front/$41.99 Rear per pair for the 1/8 scalers. Usually Tower has them marked up pretty high before they have them in hand, but bet they don't go much lower.

This is bad for tire buyers...Towers prices are going to be high for tires...Hope it doesnt start a trend for other tire producers....

Tower has always been high.
If I had to pay that all the time, I'll be done with racing real fast.......

What's even worse is that distributors should be distributors and shops should be shops. Tower/Hobbico/Great Planes/Whatever is the only hobby shop making 50-100% off of their sales when the mom and pop down the street will sell them for $21.99 making 10-25% tops.

The problem is that by the time we receive something from overseas, the product has gone through too many hands. We need a U.S. company to make tires, they'd probably be more expensive.

You'll be surprise to see Jaco coming out with new rims from serpent that the price are pretty low "good foam + strong rims + low price = happy racers"

JACO is a US company. We have been in business 16 years, mostly producing electric tires. Our gas tires are very competitive. In fact, we won the ROAR sedan nats last year and the 1/8 nats a couple years ago. Our prices are competitive and the quality is very good.

Try MicroSystems tires...Kamikaze has them in stock. You'll pay a lot less than the GRP prices above, and you'll get a great tire.

GQ Tires are inexpensive and of great quality. Thicker rims that don't break very easy. Foam that does not come unglued.

I can say this....keep an eye on SERPENT/JACO series of foams, 26/30mm for 200mm TC and 1/8th foams both....New rims for all major brand (serpent, kyosho and mugen) and new rubber from Jaco (there are 2 stages series on 200mm TC)

Now the price.....check with your LHS, the price are cheaper then their previous brand and totally affordable for TC and 1/8th racer (that is the reason I start racing 1/8th....the foams now a day are almost 2X cheaper then few years back..)
